Yes indeedy, our bubble has burst like an overripe tomato hitting a mediaeval adulterer in the stocks, and in classic unfortunate outdrawy fashion too.
Peter Smithson shoves from the button, and Dara O'Kearny in the small blind calls him more or less instantly.
Dara -
Peter -
Board - an absolutely standard
Ouch.

ob Sherwood raises to 8k (just before the end of level). James Akenhead makes it 26k. Rob does the long slow deliberate chip count think, takes a breath and then announces he's all-in. James immediately asks how much more, it's around 70k or so, which is too steep a price that James is willing to pay. He folds, Rob is up to about 130k.
Cheryl Routledge has doubled up with
vs
.
Joey Lovelady and Fraser Macintyre have a big pot going.
The board reads
where Fraser checks and Joey bets 40k, much deliberation ensues. He then calls. The
is on the river and Fraser moves all-in for about 62k. "So lucky," mutters Joey, "You're so lucky."
He passes and is down to about 150k.
"So lucky."

Adam Clarke raises to 10k. Pete Linton makes it 22k, Adam Clarke moves all-in. Pete has about 45k behind and decides to call for his life with A-8. Clarke shows Jacks, but Pete catches an Ace on the flop and another on the turn for good measure.
"How can he call there?" asks someone in the pressroom.
"Because he's shit!" says another.
Anyway the 'Jacks' curse is quickly passed on to Pete, he raises with them, enough to cover Mike Hill who I think must have called blind because he found himself all-in with 7-2 against the Jacks. And then made a full house to double up...

Adam Clark, not happy about having his Jacks cracked by A-8:
And indeed, the very next hand James Akenhead raises to 11k and Pete flat-calls, only for Michael Hill to shove for just 15.9k total. Obviously both James and Pete call. When the flop comes down
James checks, but Pete bets 40k - James folds.
Pete -
Michael -
Turn -
(oooohhh)
River -
(OOOOHHHH)
And Michael doubles up. Says Jon Raab, "You've just done a Pete Linton on Pete Linton!"
This is the face of a man who's gone all in with 2-7 when he knows he's getting two callers:

We have an outage in the shape of Ms Lynne Beaumont. Pockt Eights against Pete Linton's A-T. Pete hit, and Lynne hit the rail.

Joey Lovelady raises to 10.5k preflop. Ganesh Rao calls from the button.
Joey checks, Ganesh bets 9k, Joey calls.
Check check.
Joey checks again. Ganesh bets 16k and after a thought, Joey throws the chips in slightly frustrated. Ganesh insta-mucks though, and Joey's
is good.
Adam 'Clarketroid' Clarke moves in over the top of Ian Farrell's raise. Farrell debates it before saying, "Gamble," turning over
.
Adam, "You'll need to catch up then." He shows
.
Board:
...(wry smiles become apparent)
.
Clarke doubles through.
Shortly afterwards Mike Hill gets his last 35k or so all-in with Fives against Rob Sherwood's Ace Jack. He spikes a Five on the flop and doubles back up into the hunt.

THE DEMISE OF LINTON
As I wander up to the table, there's around 65k in the pot and a whole board out - it is
. Pete Linton is betting 30k. Then James Akenhead is raising to 77k. Then Pete is calling, and then mucking with some cursing under his breath as James turns over
for the short-of-quads nuts. Down to 50k.
And then a few hands later it's all in preflop, once again up against James Akenhead.
Pete -
James -
Board -
And with a quick handshake, Pete has been Lintonated. I should add that a while back, when he had considerably more chips, Pete said to me that if he didn't make the final then he was quitting poker. Anyone want to put money on how long that lasts?
Well played, Mr Linton. A most entertaining tournament effort these past few days.

By the by still in and playing rather well by the look of it, Ms Cheryl Routledge. She got in on a freeroll, y'know. She's short but everyone at the table seems a bit afraid of her. As I wandered by, Joey Lovelady had raised to 10k and Cheryl flat-called from the button, leaving herself just 24k behind. Big blind Dara O'Kearny called too. When they both checked the
flop, Cheryl immediately shoved, and both Dara and Joey folded pretty swiftly.

Rob Price is OUT.
into Garnesh Rao's
.
Shortly afterwards on the other table, Alan Vinnicombe moves all-in from the button and James Akenhead calls.
Alan:
James:
(at which point Alan takes a huge breath and holds it for the river...)
"YEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEAAAAAAAAAAH," and he bangs the table hard in delight.
He's now up to 112k.

Rob Sherwood is OUT. A limp blind on blind pot with T-8 saw him get it all-in on a T-8-4 flop against Ian Farrell's 9-7 which spiked the Jack turn, and Rob failed to house up on the river.
His last few chips were called off in a 3-way all-in pot. Adam Clarke moved all-in from UTG, Rob called from the small blind and Ian Farrell then called both pushes from the big blind.
Adam:
Rob:
Ian:
Flop:
(Something for everyone)
Adam and Rob are both out.
Ian Farrell has continued what must be a huge rush at the right time. He button raised, James Akenhead re-raised to 80k, Ian then pushed for another 130k or so on top and James said, "I must be dominated," and eventually folded.
Ian is now the chip leader. And a Rodney Bewes lookalike imo.

James Akenhead is back to Chip Monster
after a dodgy hour or two.
He bets 17k utg and both Dave Allan in the cutoff and Michael Hill on the button call. James bets 28k on the
flop but then has to fold when Michael moves all in. He looks most unhappy, and has dropped down to around 230k...
Folding rather than making obscene gesture:
Then a few hands later everything starts going right again. Alan Vinnicombe makes it 16k from the button - James in the small blind and Dave Allan in the big blind both call.
The flop comes
and it checks around to Alan who bets 20k. James raises to 60k, and Dave flat-calls. Alan looks from Dave to James and back before sniggering and folding.
Turn -
- and the betting goes super-fast-James-120k-Dave-all-in-James-call.
Dave -
James -
And thus Mr Akenhead (a distant relative of Jen "Baconhead" Mason btw*) doubles up to, er, over 400k? Dave crippled to, um, 80k? Counts a-coming...
*Possibly a lie.
