Arsenal always score, 2-0 to the Gunners. Liverpool leaving Anfield under a cloud of shame having had 2 men sent off. Title: Re: GOOD LUCK LIVERPOOL Post by: mondatoo on April 08, 2008, 03:37:28 PM Id go for a 1-0 liverpool win.Early torres goal.

Ive not picked up a paper today, my arse is twitching so much its crazy, and i'm off to the ground in an hour.. Silo, come on man, 2 sent off... Arsenal will have gallas sent off for sure, with Risse going for Liverpool in a thilling 0-0 draw... I'm not over confident, and I do think Arsenal can score, so predictions for you gamblers 1-1, 2-1 arse after extra time... so im lumping a £20 bet on Arse to qualify, and off to shout and bite my nails off and sing because im as good as bandit when it comes to a tip.. Lets hope its a good game like the previous 2, and ;pokergods; ;pokergods; let it be a Liverpool / Chelsea next round.. Enjoy Silo Title: Re: GOOD LUCK LIVERPOOL Post by: Graham C on April 08, 2008, 03:47:22 PM I'm looking forward to it very much, Liverpool v Arsenal is usually a good affair. its going to be tight, with liverpool not needing to score a lot expect liverpool to sit back and soak up the pressure, no predications but benitez sometimes surprises in these sort of situations and goes on the attack, theres talk of crouch playing tonight i hope that doesn't mean kuyt is not playing, kuyt has turned into a fantastic player this season and along with a few other players is an automatic choice for the big games, i hope to see gallas sat on the pitch on his own for 5 min at the end of the match are you a steward jizzem ,my lad was a steward for a few years ,left 2 years ago. Title: Re: GOOD LUCK LIVERPOOL Post by: kinboshi on April 08, 2008, 04:42:41 PM I'm not sure that Rafa will set up the team to defend. He tends to play the percentage game, and sitting back and trying to keep Arsenal's attacking force out for 90 minutes isn't a good percentage play.
I think he'll get the team to go out on the offensive from the off and try and get a goal. If Liverpool do score first, then Rafa might decide that the percentage play is to defend. I can't see Crouch starting tonight - as Rafa seems to have his preferred formation now. What about the Arsenal fans? Would you rather Crouch did or didn't start? Title: Re: GOOD LUCK LIVERPOOL Post by: Pelham Boy on April 08, 2008, 04:57:53 PM 1-0 Arsenal for me. Walcott with the goal about 10 mins from the end.

Is this view shared by most liverpool supporters(that he's fantastic). As for liverpool only having 2 good players i cant understand how anyone doesn't rate carragher (not that debate again :-X)Alonso is also a quality player imo and although he seems out of form at the moment reina is a very good keeper the core of liverpools team i.e Reina Carra Gerrard Torres is good enough to compete for the league title they just need to improve the rest of the team as they have too many players who get a start at liverpool that wouldn't get in the 16 at man utd. Title: Re: GOOD LUCK LIVERPOOL Post by: booder on April 08, 2008, 05:36:16 PM no question that Kuyt is the hardest worker in the team but he is never gonna be a 20 goal a season player.Personally i would prefer to see Benayoun in the team as his link up play and finishing are superior. And as for Babel............... :redcard:
Title: Re: GOOD LUCK LIVERPOOL Post by: steeveg on April 08, 2008, 06:29:08 PM i like crouch, a lot of friends ive spoken to feel sorry for him , hes done no thing wrong and has scored some vital goals, but i like a player who is skilful, runs his heart out up and down the field for 90 min and is a team player, kuyt does all this, gerrard takes some beating in covering the pitch but kuyt runs more than any other liverpool player i think,he can score goals and lay them on as well, always running back to help the defence and sprinting up the field on the break, i would have him in any team, reanna is a great goalkeeper he does have a weakness in the air though and this has been costing us a lot lalely.he has to take control and come for more crosses far better than he has, rissa and alonso have played better in the past i think, i loved both players and know they can play brilliant so they will get better i think
my daughter went for a meal a few months back , peter crouch was in the restaurant , i was telling a friend, my daughter bumped into peter crouch on saturday night, he said, its a wonder he didnt go down a try and get a pen ,lol Title: Re: GOOD LUCK LIVERPOOL Post by: ChipRich on April 08, 2008, 06:50:11 PM Crouch starts with Torres, no Babel.

Maybe that's why you're surprised? Kuyt has been one of the most consistent players for Liverpool over the past month or so. He's not going to score many, but Rafa's got him playing wide right - and he adds a lot to the side. Saying that, he's got a few important goals recently. Title: Re: GOOD LUCK LIVERPOOL Post by: kinboshi on April 08, 2008, 08:41:06 PM Believe I believe that was a very entertaining half for the neutral! Arsenal were giving us a battering early on. In fact it reminded me of Istanbul. Mascherano is particular was completely off the pace. Sami Hyypia is a legend. A fantastic header from the big man who tends to come good in the big games. I just hope we can be more solid (and Arsenal can look as loose with the ball as they were towards the end of the half), otherwise there'll be another away goal and that'd probably be game over. Title: Re: GOOD LUCK LIVERPOOL Post by: kinboshi on April 08, 2008, 08:42:37 PM Kuyt has to go and get Babbel on Disagree. Babel has flattered to deceive for me all season. He's very frustrating as he has the talent and undoubted speed - but seems to be unaware that he's actually a gifted player. He seems scared to take players on. Kuyt's a very important player for Liverpool. Title: Re: GOOD LUCK LIVERPOOL Post by: Rooky9 on April 08, 2008, 09:04:04 PM Regardless of what happens in the rest of the game, two decisions from these master tacticians really bugs me.
1) Wenger weakening his defence by putting Toure at right back, bringing in Senderos and playing Eboue on the right wing. He could play the right back at right back, the centre back at centre back and bring a right winger, who could also be English (who would have thought!), on the right wing. 2) Benetez playing a 4-4-2 with two holding midfielders in the middle and the wide people who aren't proper wide people. Only Gerrard's unwillingness to stay out wide can possibly link any play up. Or Jamie Carrager beating people down the wing. Crazy. Only Gerrard's unwillingness to stay out wide can possibly link any play up. Or Jamie Carrager beating people down the wing. Crazy. Senderos had ten or twelve excellent games in a row before Toure came back into the team. When Sagna got injured it was easily the best option to switch Toure to RB and bring Senderos back. Toure IMO is a far better right back than Hoyte, in fact some would argue that it's his best position. The LB for Pool was awesome. Alonso was absolute Zokoradire. I agree - Aurelio had a very good game (for once). Alonso and Gerrard played poorly by their standards. Yes, both Gerrard and Alonso were sub-standard. Mascherano was poor first half, but improved in the second. Thought Reina was dodgy as well, but the back four in front of him had good games. Dirk Kuyt though. From a complete waste of space to a very important player for us. Crouch had a great game too, and showed why he should start more games. I thought that Torres had a few periods of the game where he looked threatening (and obviously scored) and he worked very hard. If Arsenal had been able to sustain their game that they were playing in the first half, that would have been game over. Sami's goal seemed to knock them off their rhythm and allowed Liverpool to get back into it. Of course there's the penalty decision too. I thought it was a penalty, but it was one of those that is given sometimes and others not. Same for Hleb's in the first leg. Looks like we got a big slice of luck with those decisions. Maybe I'm bias but I thought we were better than Liverpool over the 2 games, possibly all 4 games this season but never won one. I thought Liverpool got the 2 big decisions from ref over the tie and maybe if we had got one of them it may have been us go through. Saying that we also had enough decent chances over the 2 games and didn't finish. I said at the start of the thread I think Wenger got it wrong playing Kolo at RB, not that he is a bad RB but Senderos doesn't cut against the other teams in the top 4. Actually he doesn't cut it against teams in the top half. He gave Hyypia and Torres too much room for their goals. I really hope that Liverpool can beat Chelsea although I have a sick feeling that Chelsea might win the CL this year, even with Grant in charge. I know that Liverpool have done them in a couple of semis but I think it will be different this time around. Oh and Kev.........FO Title: Re: GOOD LUCK LIVERPOOL Post by: mondatoo on April 09, 2008, 04:26:59 PM So thats one FA Cup Final and one Champions League Semi Final that probably wont have a single goal in them in about 500 minutes of football. Title: Re: GOOD LUCK LIVERPOOL Post by: kinboshi on April 09, 2008, 05:17:17 PM Well played scoucers and good luck in the next round. You played us off the park until Hyypia scored. Then I thought we were playing the better football. We had the rub of the green with the penalty decisions, but surely Wenger can't be right that Hleb's was a definite penalty and yet Babel's was definitely not a penalty? Both could have been given, and both could have been waved away. Maybe the ref last night would have given both, and the ref in the first leg would have given neither? Quote I said at the start of the thread I think Wenger got it wrong playing Kolo at RB, not that he is a bad RB but Senderos doesn't cut against the other teams in the top 4. Actually he doesn't cut it against teams in the top half. He gave Hyypia and Torres too much room for their goals. He was the weak link in your defence. Although I don't think Hyypia has been given enough credit for his goal in the media at all. He worked hard to lose his marker, and then had to direct the header from a good distance out. Dare I say that the ability for an attacker to lose their marker at set pieces is a weakness of man-to-man marking systems? Quote I really hope that Liverpool can beat Chelsea although I have a sick feeling that Chelsea might win the CL this year, even with Grant in charge. I know that Liverpool have done them in a couple of semis but I think it will be different this time around. I think the two games will be better than the previous efforts. I hope we can win, but I reckon it's 50/50 (even if the bookies have them as slight favourites). Quote Oh and Kev.........FO Can never argue with that. Football, gives everybody something to talk about, you only need to look back at this thread and see how people have changed their minds, one team out then the other was gone..., the great thing about our beautiful game is, it gives you nights like that.. I wish I could have had you all there to see and feel it for yourself.. Liverpool & Arsenal ;hattip; to giving us a brilliant game... What he said...Leaving the penalty issue aside this was a great game of footie. Thought it was a well-taken penalty. In fact it was about the only thing of note Gerrard did in the game. Gerrard doesnt give me confidence taking penalties, he must have missed at least 5, if not 6 or 7... Yes, I was packing it. then again, he hasn't missed one for quite a while. He must have balls the size of Uranus though, as he said himself he played very poorly for him, and yet he was confident enough to step up and take a very solid penalty. I think Liverpool's penalties are all decided pre game by Rafa. He rotates his panalty takers too I believe. He got subbed in the derby when Kuyt scored one, forgot that... |
