Post by: Colchester Kev on May 29, 2008, 12:39:27 PM
I will start ...

The sound of a Hoover ... Gteed to send me to the point of self harm.
The sound of a knife scraping on a plate ... another ARRRRGHHHHHHHH sound

Jeeze, I have to hoover now and again!

Whistling annoys the hell out of me, especially if it just random whistling that you can't even make out what it's supposed to be.

my life was tilted yesterday.  sat down on tube, shut my eyes ready for my usual doze, then the tube nutter gets on, sits one seat away from me and starts singing at the top of his voice.  Smoking too for double tilt (coz the smell made me want one).  Thankfully he got off after two stops.

Whistling for me too - it really frightens me. If someone is whistling in the supermarket for example I have to walk away, I can't stand tuneless whistling for no reason.

Other than that the only thing that upsets me is "SEAT" shouted as I leave the table....hear that one way too often...

Pretty much every sound tilts me. I like silence and darkness.

The sound of flies buzzing around & Hoovers & ChipRich begging for money are 3 that really spring to mind

Noisy children (other than my own, that I seem to have learnt the art of tuning them out).

The worst sound in the world is when you are kid free for a few hours/days and have to listen to some ill mannered, badly behaved, screaming brat. I would rather scrape my own fingernails down a chalk board than listen to them. I have been known to leave places (fast) because of them, I just can't cope with it at all.

I can't bear to hear a crying child.

it annoys me very much when a parent just leave's a child crying and even more if they attempt to stop said howling by screaming at the kid to stop.

I rarely ignore a crying child and on many occaissions have actually went out the house to pacify someone elses crying child.

I get some strange looks whilst in supermarkets etc attempting to pacify kids abandoned on trolleys by singing silly songs or pulling strange faces.

If it keeps the kids happy, so be it.

The phone ringing, me answering it and it being followed by

a) Is that Graham, you've expressed an interest in the stock market recently, have you heard of XXX

or

b) Can I speak with the person who deals with your business insurance/phone/utilities/website/advertising/marketing etc etc

Seem to be getting an influx atm.

Darren is a comercial only window cleaner and trust me he has seen some things in his time whilst doing offices. If you were to walk around in your white shorts I think it would shock them more than seeing you starkers.

We work in serviced offices in Hemel and down the hall from us is a recruitment consultant who whenever he talks to a prospective candidate leaves his own office and sets up shop outside mine in the corridor.

OI YOU NOOOOO!

I have found an antidote. I walk out of my office singing "Oh what a beautiful Morning" very loudly and very tunelessly.........
