Title: Diary about my love of Cos and other stuff, but mostly <3 Cos & the aftermath... Post by: sovietsong on January 04, 2011, 03:18:15 PM Not sure if the rest of the Blonde community are aware but I have a huge man crush on Cos, I know he isn't what you would consider good looking, well not in the conventional way but on the inside he really is an amazing person.
I have been thinking about a diary for a while now, I really enjoy the majority of the diaries that are up and running and think most angles have been covered - Red has the interesting stories - Mond has the grinding side of the market cornered - Flushys updates are as regular as clockwork and covers the balla angle - Tightend has something covered (not sure what its the only Diary I CBA reading) - Tikay has the SkyPoker side of things wrapped up. So in short this Diary will be about Cos and how much I love him, from time to time I may update other things, for anybody who played my super fun x-factor game they will know what an incred guy I am, for those of you that dont know me, try not to think of me as a total c*** just a bit of a c***. Title: Re: Diary about my love of Cos and other stuff, but mostly <3 Cos & the aftermath... Post by: sovietsong on January 04, 2011, 03:27:50 PM BTW feel free to ask my any questions about how much I love cos or anything you like, this thread will be really interactive.
Current Balances PokerStars - $16 FTP - $30 SkyPoker - $0 Halifax - -£1423 will be updating balances whenever I can but when I'm on a big downswong I prob wont post balances as it will be too depressing. Title: Re: Diary about my love of Cos and other stuff, but mostly <3 Cos & the aftermath... Post by: sovietsong on January 04, 2011, 04:36:43 PM Inspired by the likes of Red Dog, Evilpie and my Hero Cos, I am thinking about my weight and fitness.
I got a leaflet from my local gym, it offers free membership and no fixed contract it. My dilemma is as follows, my favourite form of exercise is swimming, the council pool is big but horrible the Gym pool is small but very nice. Should I sacrifice the bigger pool for a nicer pool with options to do other exercises? Evilpie mentioned in his Diary that the main issue is getting to the gym, once there its an enjoyable experience. Although I'm a big fat pig I did used to go to the gym a bit and quite enjoyed it but with the dog and work not sure if I would take full advantage of a membership. Waiting for them to call me back with prices etc, the more I think about it the more I like the idea of being a muscle man like GreekStein Title: Re: Diary about my love of Cos and other stuff, but mostly <3 Cos & the aftermath... Post by: Claw75 on January 04, 2011, 04:40:01 PM how much do you love Cos out of 10?
was it love at first sight, or more of a slow burner? Title: Re: Diary about my love of Cos and other stuff, but mostly <3 Cos & the aftermath... Post by: sovietsong on January 04, 2011, 04:43:53 PM how much do you love Cos out of 10? was it love at first sight, or more of a slow burner? my love isnt really based on looks, I'm going to put a post up along the lines of 'the story so far' which should cover most of your questions but for now I will tell you that out of 10 I love cos @ 8. To give you some idea of what an 8 is on my scale my mum and dad hover between 7 and 7.5. Regards, S Title: Re: Diary about my love of Cos and other stuff, but mostly <3 Cos & the aftermath... Thats not what this is about. Title: Re: Diary about my love of Cos and other stuff, but mostly <3 Cos & the aftermath... Post by: sovietsong on January 04, 2011, 06:16:25 PM I'm getting pretty pissed off with LA Fitness and I havent even signed up yet. This is supposed to be the easy part... I actively am looking for a membership and they won't tell me how much it costs or allow me to speak with a 'membership specialist'.
I have rang twice now and am edging towards the council swimming pool as a result! Title: Re: Diary about my love of Cos and other stuff, but mostly <3 Cos & the aftermath... This is for you and Cos. When football was for men like both you two are innit 32 million watched this on TV! When football was for men like both you two are innit 32 million watched this on TV! YouTube: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CHCtjWSvIPc Oh my, how well I remember THAT! I watched it in a TV Gallery at the BBC Centre in Wood Lane, White City, with a girl who was a graphics operator. On the monitor I was viewing it on, a graphic flashed up "Tony Kendall is a love machine", & I nearly had heart failure. It was only viewable internally, but, you know, mistakes can happen, & I nearly crapped myself. That aside, WHAT a match! Title: Re: Diary about my love of Cos and other stuff, but mostly <3 Cos & the aftermath... Post by: sovietsong on January 04, 2011, 06:47:18 PM Yes I would defo include Gary Mac in my all time leeds team, i started going to elland road in 1991/92 and whilst i have obviously heard lots of things about the great leeds teams I couldnt really have a player in my all time leeds team without seeing them play live.
My team would look like this*, I will probably get stick from some of the leeds lads for some inclusions but my decisions are based on the time they played for leeds not what they did after. GK - Nigel Martin LB - Tony Dorigo RB - Gary Kelly CB - Lucas Radebe CB - Jon Woodgate DM - David Batty AM - Gary McAllister RM - Gordon Strachan LM - Harry Kewell F - Eric Cantona F - Tony Yeboah Subs Gary Speed Rio Ferdiand Olly Dacourt Alfy Haaland Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink Its taken me about 30 mins to select this as I keep changing my mind, probably would change half the team if people start throwing names out there, but these are mainly players I really enjoyed watching. *I reserve the right to change this team when some other leeds fans bring up names I've missed. No current players, dont think anybody in the current team would be in my top 25 tbh Title: Re: Diary about my love of Cos and other stuff, but mostly <3 Cos & the aftermath... Post by: titaniumbean on January 04, 2011, 06:55:06 PM I've read loads of about LA Fitness being a bunch of skanks, making it near impossible to actually cancel memberships etc.
Why not just go for a run? why do we as a society have to pay someone to be able to go and work out in their building? swimming is about one of the only things i'd considering being a member of somewhere for. Running machines etc all seem pointless. Title: Re: Diary about my love of Cos and other stuff, but mostly <3 Cos & the aftermath... Hard to answer but if I'm picking from the Leeds managers from the last 20 years I will go with, David O'Leary. He would play the style of football I like and with the quality of players would just let them go out and play. Then again Wilko deserves a chance as he did such an amazing job winning us the title... oh dear and Grayson is leeds through and through... Post by: sovietsong on January 05, 2011, 01:38:57 PM So today is the start of my new healthy living regime. Everybody seems to be trying to be healthy at the moment and I'm very much a bandwagon type of guy. That and I'm getting married next year (not to cos sadly) and I would like to drop a few stone and find a decent wig, I don't want to lose 5 stone in 5 weeks or anything silly just eat a bit better and do more exercise.
Today is my last day off before going back to work tomorrow, I have used this last day of freedom well. Got up at 11am, went to the gym to enquire about membership and played abit of PLO. As I like highlighting things I'm going to break my day up as I want to tell my avid readers about my experiences of Wed 5th Jan two thousand and eleven so far. GYM I have been shopping around for a Gym for a while now, my main requirement is a decent pool and not too expensive. My local Gym is LA Fitness, although the pool is only 15m I would join due to location and will use other Gym facilities. That was my thought as I went to meet Shaun from the 'membership team', all Shaun had to do was an OK job and I will sign up. Unfortunately Shaun did not do an OK job. He did a terrible job. All I wanted was no sign up fee and no long tie ins. I volunteered this info to Shaun he obviously did not listen. He took me round and tried to built excellent rapport, constantly saying things from his training manual that were intended to make me feel at ease and like him. They did not have the desired effect as he kept fucking up his script, repeating himself and asking me questions then looking away when I answered. Nevermind I thought, as long as its less than £45 a month I will prob sign up as it looks nice enough and is clean. We sat down for his close, I'm excited to here what he has to offer as although I have asked a couple of times what the fees are Shaun has informed me that they tailor a package to suit the member! Great news, I had told Shaun no sign up fee or tie in is my priority and use of the pool is a must, he is going to hit me with the perfect deal for me and I will snap his hand off. Here goes, I can see Shaun gearing up for the big sell, he starts with an open question; "Tell me what do you think of the facilities?" Great question from Shaun, this will get me to reconfirm all the things I like and give him all the buying signals you wants, bearing in mind that at this point I actually want to sign up and then he ruins it... "I know its small but its not that busy is it?" My response - No. He turned a wonderful question into a terrible one in 3 short seconds. Nevermind, I am keen to hear about the no joining fee no tie in that I had my original leaflet about...Shaun is ready to tell me the price. "Right the most expensive option is the no tie in option, its £50 a month with a £40 joining fee." "OK... what other options do you have" "well if you sign up for 24 months its only £37 a month" "not really looking to sign up for a long contract" "OK how about 12 month contract no sign up fee £45 a month" "Again not really what i was looking for Shaun" "I tell you what, I will go speak with the manager he will do you a little deal" Wait 5 mins although it felt like a lifetime - its worth it though as I will get the great deal offered by the manager.... Shaun's back!! "OK what we will do is £40 a month 12 month contact" "Never mind Shaun, I will leave it going to sign up to a gym near work that has a 25m pool" "but do they give you a free coaching session and a workout plan" "I don't want a free coaching session" "really! It will help you work towards your training goals" "I will give you a call Shaun" He really did fk up the whole process which now means I'm going to use the council pool which isn't that bad and look into the swimming pool and Gym near work. PLO Played 4 tabs for a bit, won a couple of buy ins @ 15c/25c. I like PLO but am rubbish at it. Hopefully will play more and be better at it. Cos my hero and best friend helped me with a little sweat session playing HU PLO Cap which really helped. Need to do some more though as although I did win a few $$$ I'm terrabad... Title: Re: Diary about my love of Cos and other stuff, but mostly <3 Cos & the aftermath... Post by: boldie on January 05, 2011, 05:44:09 PM is 12 months a "long term sign-up"? Pretty standard unless you want to go "Pay as you go" which is almost always more expensive if you go 3 times+ a week.
Just sign up for 12 months...and indeed tell them to stick the sign-up fee...it's ridic that they even charge it. is 12 months a "long term sign-up"? Pretty standard unless you want to go "Pay as you go" which is almost always more expensive if you go 3 times+ a week. Just sign up for 12 months...and indeed tell them to stick the sign-up fee...it's ridic that they even charge it. I don't think it is long term really but I got a fancy leaflet saying that we could join up for free on a pay as you go basis. I actually went to the Bodyline gym (nice way of putting leeds city council sports centre) and although its no where near as nice as the proper gym the pool is much bigger and I will probably just pay per session there until I know I'm going to do it on a regular basis. I always chop and change my mind so really dont want to be paying £40 a month for 12 months, that is money I can be losing at poker! Post by: Longines on January 05, 2011, 06:20:29 PM There seem to be a few cheaper chains opening up like The Gym Group and Pure Gym e.g. http://www.puregym.co.uk/Pure-Gym/Leeds.
No pool but only £17/month, no contract and open 24/7. Title: Re: Diary about my love of Cos and other stuff, but mostly <3 Cos & the aftermath... Post by: Josedinho on January 10, 2011, 10:57:59 PM Just found your diary as you mentioned it on Evilpie and Greekstein's beefcake thread.
I am also a "chunky" young man so am also looking to excercise more and eat better. Please make the effort to update this diary as I feel that although Evilpie is very helpful that thread may already be out of my league. As I've got up to date I thought i'd leave you with my drinking advice. I drink gin + slimline tonic if I go out to reduce the cals from lager. It can be tough to drink for a 23 yr old man but I shrug it off and find that simply saying "All the big dog's drink it" ends the discussion about it quickly. Tastes great too! Well this diary has fallen by the wayside a little, my love of Costa has tailed off recently, he used to be mean to me in a fun way. Like the way you tease the girl at school you liked, however over the past couple of weeks I've noticed a change. Since he has been going to the gym he has been different, but I just figured he was tired after a tough work out... it seems I was wrong. Today you will notice he posted this on his diary. Bought sovietsongs tourney action cos I love his big bald head but that's another 200ish pissed up the wall and I think I did in about 400 last night on a night out. I expect this kind of banter from my former hero, but some of the abusive messages I got via text would have had him banned from blonde if they had been by PM. Its almost like he has taken all my love for him and turned it into pure hate. I'm really not sure where we can go from here. There are a couple of other guys on blonde that I could replace Cos with but I'm just not sure if they would be available on MSN the way cos is. My first preference would be to start a new thread about my Hero Brent Horneris, the issue here is that BH already has a fan boy in ChipRich. Next on my list would be gatso, his funny posts on the thread of 2010 'Sovietsongs super fun X-factor game' have made him a prime candidate. Then again, he can be really sarcasmistic at times and I dont know how I would cope with that. The Tank is obviously the fans favourite, but he isnt about much these days and he is Scottish. Decisions decisions. All I can say for certain is GreekStein and me are headed in different directions... Title: Re: Diary about my love of Cos and other stuff, but mostly <3 Cos & the aftermath...
