The original, the best, the DTD £300 Deepstack (http://www.dusktilldawnpoker.com/images/whatson/300-deepstack-logo.png) The Online Day One is taking place tonight, chip copunts will be posted tomorrow The Live Day Ones are as follows Fri 6th September 5:00 pm Day 1b Late Reg until 1.20am Sat 7th September 2:00 pm Day 1c Late Reg Until 10.20pm Buy In is £336 Playing 14 levels of 40 minutes in Day Ones, 30,000 starting chips Min cash is £600 RE-ENTRY: "+ 1 Same Day Re-Entry" and "Next Day Re-Entry" is permitted i.e. Players can Re-Enter once on the same day within the late reg period for live Day 1's AND/OR Re-Enter into all future Day 1's. Players who make Day 2 more than once will have their chip stacks Merged. If you make Day 2 but feel that your chip stack is too small, you still have the option to re-enter into any future Day 1's without forfeiting this chipstack i.e. the option to attempt to merge your stack. For example, if you make it through the Online Day 1a but on the last hand of level 14 you get your AA busted and are left with a shortstack of 20,000 - just 5 BB's , and you decide to play Friday Day 1b live at the Club and this time you make Day 2 with 240,000 chips, you will start Day 2 with a stack of 260,000 chips, but if you busted Day 1b - you will start with your original 20,000 chips Title: Re: DTD £150,000 GTD September Deepstack Live Update Post by: TightEnd on September 05, 2013, 11:00:39 PM There are still opportunites to satellite into Saturday

14 levels of 40 minutes. 85 played the online leg last night with 21 through. I'm expecting a lot more people rolling up as work finishes, or once they realise it's no longer a 7pm start. As an aside, just like to brag a won a Golden Chip for the Grand Prix. Irrelevant to today, but hey. In theory you could bink the seat before 1.20am and still enter tonight. Creeping upwards. the player count is now 55. There is a young biy sitting next to me. I assumed DTD had initially supplied him as a small snack for me, but no, he seems to actually work here. Only during school holidays I guess. Anyway, he is predicting 120 entries by the end of play today. I predict he won't start shaving for at least another year. Title: Re: DTD £150,000 GTD September Deepstack Live Update Post by: mouth on September 06, 2013, 07:46:26 PM Mad Turk, Birmingham's most modest player, and Albert Sapiano - London Honey Magnate - are on the same table, which could lead to an interesting evening.
Turk loves to bluff, while Albert loves to not believe. Someone is going to stack someone very soon, but it could go either way. Either way they choose to play, between them they have amassed $673K in winnings on the Hendon Mob, so they may well still be here on Sunday. 110 entries now, 3 re-entries and 109 players left in, after we lost THREE players in one hand.. AA vs JJ vs KJ (plus a short stack with rags) on a KJX board. Looking good for Rob on the overlay front. Title: Re: DTD £150,000 GTD September Deepstack Live Update Post by: mouth on September 06, 2013, 08:00:01 PM Matt Harris runs to tell me there's a big hand brewing on the hero table.
I dash over to see a very non dramatic fold pre flop after a 3 bet. Typical man, getting me all excited just to let me down when it comes to delivering the goods. Title: Re: DTD £150,000 GTD September Deepstack Live Update Post by: mouth on September 06, 2013, 08:07:02 PM On table 32 Mo Sadiq has cried a hand in to get himself back to his starting stack after dropping right down to 9k. It involved A6, runner runner six six and "feeling" it was going to come.
Ross Patman on 33K. Albert Sappiano on 3million or so, at least that's what it looks like. On his table five players see a flop of Ahrt Ac 4c which is chhecked by all. Turn is the 8s and seat 9 decides to see where he is with a small bet. Mad Turk puts his fork down (he's eating, not threatening players with gardening tools) and says " Wow how many aces are in this pack?" and puts in a small raise. Albert, Sinem and the original raiser know the score, and fold simultaneously. On how long you tank with this hand... Table 34. Martin Fogarty raises pre, flat called Tom Ambler. They see a flop of 6h 9s Qh Fogarty bets 2100. Tom makes it 5700.Fogarty calls. Turn is Kh Fogarty ships it all across the line, 14K, slap bang in the middle and sits back. Tom sighs and starts to think. Now I know I can be prone to exaggeration - I've said it a million times - but he seriously tanked for over 6 minutes. Bear in mind I've already seen his cards when he peeked another look and to me it's a snap call. I would have called before Fogarty's chips had even hit the deck. I would have called before Fogarty even said he was all in. A snap call - basically that's me being impartial and sitting on the fence. (http://www.museumofchildhood.org.uk/__images/site-images/collections-images/games-images/snap.jpg) Eventually Tom Ambler makes a crying call after saying he has enough money on him to re-enter, and that he could beat Aces with the Ahrt and tables Qd Qs for top set on flop. Martin Fogarty has Kj off, no hearts. Ross Patman on the same table, says "snap call". "I never count them sweetheart, " he says, "could be 200, could be 300, who knows?" Mad Turk pipes up: " Albert has come as Father Xmas today, he has had his hair done and will be doing his beard next, and then will be giving out early Christmas presents, when he gives me all of his chips. Because I am from Turkey, Albert knows Xmas is earlier in my country and so wants to give me early Xmas presents. Anon looks baffled and asks "What's it all about Alfie?" He eventually - reluctantly - folds pocket Queens face up. Ross Patman is dealt Ad Kd on the button. He's already caused uproar at the table as he wasn't sat down when the cards were dealt and ran back to his seat to stop his hand being mucked, and some of the players aren't happy. He raises the unopened pot and is called by Seat one,Marvin Lee, his new friend who he has been chatting to at the bar during the break. A little slice of poker heaven falls on the flop in the shape of Qd Js Th MBN. Marvin bets straight out - even nicer - and Ross does the whole "sigh I was beating you pre" call. Turn is a low diamond, giving him more outs, although I'm doubting he needs them having flopped the nut straight. Marvin picks up a chunk of purple 5K chips and plonks them over the line. Ross counts his stack and has precisely 10K more than the 30K bet and happily gets them all in. Marvin groans and says "Oh no I have to call", and does so, turning over 89 off for the bottom end of the straight and precisely zero outs. Ross is bouncing round like Tigger on phet. Tom Rutter puts him all in, Colin obliges and tells me to stick around as he's about to go out. Tom turns over pocket nines, and Colin flips pocket Kings. Quite surprised it wasn't Aces actually - he doesnt have the widest range. Despite a sweat on the turn of a board reading 8 8 3 10.. the river was a King to double Colin up to to 54K. He's still below the average of 70k but Col is one of these players who manages to nurse a short stack through the bubble on a regular basis, 54 K here is not unlike being chip leader for him. He's quite vociferous, particularly at this moment in time as he tells Luigi Sibillo how he played the last hand wrong. Title: Re: DTD £150,000 GTD September Deepstack Live Update Post by: mouth on September 07, 2013, 01:16:55 AM I'm detecting a hint of gentle teasing on table one.
Stephen Ayres has a mountain of chips and is seriously contemplating a call after anon shoves 14K on Ste's BB. Eventually he sigh folds 8c 9c and Anon shows KK. Seat 3 says "Man you should have called that - he showed the Kd which means you had the nuts." Another player pipes up, yeah clubs have been hitting, no way should you have folded. Stephen seems genuinely quite sad and says "I know i know, I dont know how I folded" Someone else says "Neither do I, you've called everything else.." Seat 4 then shoves next hand with JJ and Stephen calls with Aspades Ts and turns the nut flush, sending another player to the rail. She's gone from 10k to 100K by "playing every hand" It's not an unheard of strategy I have to say, and working well for many others. She initially lost her stack when she flopped the nuts flush, all in on flop against the other guy's top pair only for him to turn trips and river a full house. So after Now has her tournament head on again. Rich Pearson (now with 370K) and Turk have ended up on a table together. Turk is quiet for now, but I'm sure he'll find his voice once he takes a pot. Meanwhile Richard is doing enough talking for both of them, mainly football banter with Skalie for now. I missed pre flop action, but after seeing the hands I figured no one raised pre. Flop is Js 8d Td Turk has bet out 11,500. Seat 9, Farhad Mirfahkri, calls only for Sunny Mistri to ship his stack in. Rich Pearson is tanking for so long that Farhad calls for a clock. Richard folds as the TD counts down the last three seconds. Action back to Turk, who has already made up his mind and folds two pairs - Jh 8c Farhad can't get his chips in fast enough as Turk says "easy fold - this guy has flopped the straight and Sunny has a flush draw" Close.. but no cigar this time, as Sunny does indeed show a Jack high flush draw while Farhad has bottom two pair 8h Ts Turk is disgusted! Turn is a black Ace, which leaves Richard also groaning as he folded Ad 9d, but the river is another 10, giving Farhad the full house. Farhad turns to Rich and Turk and asks them "Why didnt you call!" Farhad now well over 200K. Sunny felted and Turk congratulating himself on his good fold. Looking like Sinem is the only lady left in, unless of course you count regular Anon who I always thought was a bit camp. Title: Re: DTD £150,000 GTD September Deepstack Live Update Post by: mouth on September 07, 2013, 03:06:07 AM Turk seems to have turned up the volume.
I wander over and find out why: He just 5 bet Rich Pearson off a hand. Richard folded A9 face up, only for Turk to cheekily show him 5 9. Sinem is down to 50K. She kindly doubled up effeminate Anon with a flush draw that missed, then the player to her right, with another missed flush draw. Unhappy doesn't quite cover her mood at this stage. Title: Re: DTD £150,000 GTD September Deepstack Live Update Post by: mouth on September 07, 2013, 03:14:23 AM And Sin has busted - 50K shove with A6 called by AJ - she hits her 6, he hits his Jack - and she's off back to London.

Tony Martin (not the burglar shooting farmer) raised up with Aces, hit top set on a Q J A flop and ended up getting it all in on the river, to find his opponent had flopped the nuts holding K 10 off. Tony has re entered. Albert Sapiano, yesterday's chip granddaddy, is also here today taking full advantage of the chip merging available. However, four out of the six bustouts has already re-entered so numbers are already looking positive for Rob Yong.
Title: Re: DTD £150,000 GTD September Deepstack Live Update Post by: mouth on September 07, 2013, 03:24:59 PM Oh my ears, Ryan must have drawn these two together deliberately: Will Kassouf and RastaFish sat side by side, with Rasta having position. That's if position could ever apply here.
Same table has Blonde Maria Chilli on it, Dom mahoney and Paul Romain. Rasta looks ready to slap Will already, but I'm pretty sure that won't be the first time. Will raises pre, 2.5 bgs, and as Rasta picks up his chips, Will starts the machine gun monotone that could alienate him from his own mother. "Oh he's gonna raise, here he goes, rasta gonna raise, oh hang on he's just calling, why are you calling why arent you raising what are you doing, any more fish oh yes heres another one calling, come on the fish anymore fish..." Gary Fisherf also calls, two seats to rasta's left. Flop is 8s Qd Ac Gary checks, Will bets 425 accompanied by a stream of chatter about how he's betting his ace and rasta is calling to rep the ace. Rasta does indeed call, as does Gary. Dom Mahoney turns to Will and asks if he is aware DTD have an anti drugs policy. Minimal betting on the turn 4d with maximum talking, the river is a 9d, which Gary checks first to act. Will just can't bring himself to bet - he might be the biggest fool when it comes to trash talking but he's wise enough to know he's not winning this pot, and starts to say how he can't bet his missed flush against Gary's ace, and he knew he had an ace all along. Rasta checks and no one wants to table a hand to claim the pot! Will tells Gary to turn over his Ace, Gary asks the dealer if he has to show first as the river was checked by all, and the dealer says he does, so he obligingly turns over Kd 8d for the flush! Rasta and Will start to bicker over who was ahead, Rasta shows a Queen and insists he was winning, while Will declares he had A2. Rasta tells him to show, Will again says, I had A2, and flips over 2s - "See?" Pot goes to Gary Fisher. I walked past his table four times before I clicked he was here as I didn't recognise him: he's had a hair cut and hasn't opened his mouth. Title: Re: DTD £150,000 GTD September Deepstack Live Update Post by: mouth on September 07, 2013, 04:21:59 PM I wandered over to table 37 to take a picture of a player I had on my list as notables.
Seat 7 however is occupied by an un-notable? Very nice guy but about 40 years older and 4 stone heavier than the kid I'm looking for, so i asked him if he had just moved to that seat. Yes he says, and the lad to his left says "I took him out, house over house" Great thank you I say and walk away. The lad in seat 8 then calls after me "Caroline?" I think he looks a bit familiar, so feel rude for not remembering him, and turn back and say "yes?" Lad says "Who was it you were looking for?" I reply "Brett Angell" He looks a bit shocked and says "you know that's me right?" Lesson's learnt here: 1. Learn to count properly. 2. Remember DTD is 9 handed tables. 3. Look at people properly 4. Remove Brett Angel from FB friends list in case he tags me and tells people the story. Four way pot, about 3K in the middle and a flop reading Aspades 7s 5c Seat 2 Khadir Khoshan bets 1200, called by seats 3 & 4, round to seat 8, Rahim Tadj-saadat, who goes all in for 26K, as you do. This doesn't faze Khadir who immediately says call! He still has 80K behind so it's not a tournament decision, but for the other players with averge 30K stacks, it's a bit scarier and they fold. Rahim turns over top two pair, Ahrt 5d and Khadir shows 3s 6s, chasing a flush. Flush duly arrives on the turn, but it's unfortunately the 5s which of course gives Rahim the boat. Khadir doesn't immediately see the house and fist pumps a big "Yes!" But the rest of the table are happy to tell him and he sits back down, deflated. However, with still double the average stack, he's not going to let one premature pump put him off. Will Kassouf is still involved in a hand a full six minutes into the break. Seat 9, Stephen Broughton hasn't played a hand, hasn't spoken once, hasn't ordered a drink or eaten, hasn't had a loo break or a fag break. He's been waiting for his moment, and on the river of a fairly non-descript board he goes allin after Will has bet and calmly sits there in the same immobile position he's been in since 2pm. Will is talking (see previous speech) and Ste is totally ignoring him, and continues to do so for a full five minutes. Tommy Bingham calls the clock. However, as he's not on the table TD Ryan isn't interested. The table is surrounded and Will is still talking until even he realises it's a waste of his time and folds. Stephen rakes his pot in, and calmly leaves the table without saying a word. I think he may be a bot. Title: Re: DTD £150,000 GTD September Deepstack Live Update Post by: mouth on September 07, 2013, 05:59:12 PM Ben Vinson in a hand with Jason Barton and Lee Clarke.
Board reads 6s 7d 2d 4c Lee checks to Ben who bets 3100. Jason calls, as does Lee. River is the 6d, bringing the flush and potential full houses. Lee Clarke bets out 5k. Ben tanks for a while and reluctantly folds. Action to Jason who throws in 4 x purple chips - 20K. Lee immediately calls and shows pocket 4s for a full house. Jason turns over pocket sizes for Quadzilla. On a flop of Td 8c Jd Paul Romain bets out 5200. Ste Broughton shoves all in for just under 20K. Dom Mahoney reshoves! He has about 46K and has Paul well covered. Paul dwells for ages then calls all in for 20K. Will tells everyone at the table to stand up. Everyone stays sitting down. Rasta fish commentates as the players turn over their hands... "There's a set of eights (Paul), there's a bigger set of tens (Dom) and then there is.. WHAT??? Ace Queen?? What are you doing with AQ there man???" (Stephen Broughton) Will tells him to shush as he has a double gut shot and every right to be in the hand. Rasta says yeah I suppose, any 9 or K and you win. Turn 7c River...... Kd Stephen Broughton scoops a monster pot with his double belly buster getting there on the river! Dom Mahoney is fuming, and Paul Romain looks like he may throw up on the table. Stephen Broughton on over 70K. Title: Re: DTD £150,000 GTD September Deepstack Live Update Post by: Karabiner on September 07, 2013, 06:18:12 PM Table 36. Quality punchline Ms Mellencamp, love your work. xx I thank you: I was particularly proud of that one. Title: Re: DTD £150,000 GTD September Deepstack Live Update Post by: mouth on September 07, 2013, 06:39:22 PM Paul Garnham raises, and is 3 bet by Marvin Soames.
Tony Davies then 4 bets to 4k. Paul has a think and folds pocket tens, Marvin calls the raise and they see a flop of: 9d Th 2s Unlucky Paul. Tony bets out and Marvin calls. Turn is Tc Really, really unlucky Paul. Tony checks and Marvin fiddles with his chips for a while as if he might bet but then decides checking is the safer option. River is 7h Tony bets out 5200, Marvin has another fiddle then calls. Tony shows pocket Jacks, Marvin wins the pot with pocket Queens. Paul has a little cry. He's also in trouble as I said he was watching porn. As the spam filters in DTD are pretty strict he wouldnt have been able to download porn even if he wanted to: I was kidding obv. He completed the blinds with pocket 3s, floated a flop of Tc 4h 7c, to hit a set of threes on the turn. He got his 11K in, only to see the original raiser already had the flush with Jc 2c No help on the river and he's gone. Title: Re: DTD £150,000 GTD September Deepstack Live Update Post by: mouth on September 07, 2013, 06:49:56 PM Rastafish has also gone. I'm guessing it's only a temporary thing though.
Will raises and Rasta shoves 11k in, round to Dom who shoves about 17K in. Will has the clock called on him by the floor - not for the first time today - and eventually folds. Dom has AQ, Rasta A10, Ace on the river of a low board and Dom's kicker plays. Dom Mahoney back to starting stack. They went to Galway recently for a poker tournament. Dave doesn't use computers so asked Dennis to sort out the travel bookings. They arrived at the wrong airport and had to hire a car for a 4 hour drive across ireland to Galway, and were worried they might be too late. They rushed in to register and found they had unfortunately missed the deadline. Registration had actually ended the day before, and the comp was now on Day Two. Will is in every hand, and I mean every hand. I'd say he's winning half of them as he's still on starting stack.. He has just brutalised a young lad on his table, on a board of 7c Jc Kd 7d Kc. Lad checks and Will bets 5,200 I'm going to cut his speech down to a manageable size but to get the feel, copy and paste the following 93 times and read without pausing for breath: "You let me get there I got there on the river I've got a set do you believe me I've got a set no I haven't I've got nothing Ace high wins nice hand son nice hand you win ace high is great King high is good jack is good ive got a boat I've got a house King duece King duece you let me get there I ave a boat don't call me son if you call me I'll show you a full house if you fold I'll show you a full house whatever happens I'll show you a full house I've got K2 K2 k2" The kid calls and Will shows .. Ks 2s. As declared and takes the pot. Did Will get a penalty? Nope. I know in my local if you declare your hand you get a penalty, but that's Genting and didfferent casinos have different rules. Not sure what the score is here at DTD. My understanding is this is allowed at dtd Title: Re: DTD £150,000 GTD September Deepstack Live Update Post by: mouth on September 07, 2013, 10:08:26 PM Fraser Bellamy has just taken down a 180K pot - all in pre with QQ vs Richard paul's AQ.

Title: Re: DTD £150,000 GTD September Deepstack Live Update Post by: mouth on September 07, 2013, 10:26:42 PM Rich Pearson on 120K. He's pretty much locked up on that, looking like he will be massive chip leader tomorrow if he keeps this up, as he'll be merging with a trifling 400K stack from yesterday.
Rasta is finding his voice once again. He limps in, to call a min raise from Sam trickett (one other player calls) and says "Let's play with the big boys Fish" Flop is 9h Ts 8h Checked all round. Turn Qc Seat 1 checks, rasta bets 6k. Sam folds and seat 1 calls. River pairs the board with another 8. Seat 1 checks and Rasta bets 13K - about half his stack and tells him that cloearly indicates he cannot fold should he decide to put him all in as a bluff. Seat 1 decides Rasta is talking sense, or maybe he just missed his flush draw and folds. Rasta shows J 10 for the straight, and tells me to take his picture. Brett opened UTG to 2k. Herbie 3 bet to 5200. BB Jason Clarke 4 bets to 12,500. Action back round to Herbie who says "Call" and throws in three purple 5k chips. He goes to scoop one of them back out as only needs two in to make the call. Jason Clarke then asks for a ruling, as he says Jason throwing in 15k in 3 chips constitutes a 5 bet. As if! Herbie hasn't got a 5 bet in his game! Floor is duly called and rules that it was indeed a 5 bet. Action back to Jason who then shoves all in. Herbie calls with pocket nines. Jason Clarke has AK - first card out is a King. Herbie down to 46k. Surely for it to constitute a 5bet. Herbal would have had to put at least 16150 in the middle before removing chips?? Are these bet sizes correct? He raised pre, then flat called a min 3 bet from the player to his left. Both players are listed as Anon today. A mahoosive 79 players are going through from today, plus 26 from yesterday and 21 from the online day. 126 players will come back tomorrow. Blinds start at 1500/3000 with an ante of 400. With the average stack at 130K it could be a very long day. Let's hope for lots of allins and no split pots in the first two levels, or is that just selfish? Updates start again tomorrow at 1pm! Flop 6s 2s Kh Alfie checks, Ste bets 65K. After a moment's consideration and carefully placing his card protector on his cards, Alfie makes it 165K. Ste doesn't hesitate and ca Turn is the Ahrt Alfie thinks and queitly announces all in. He starts to move his chips in and Ste puts his hand out and tells him not to move his chips, and asks the dealer to count them there. A count reveals a 405K all in. Ste starts to think. He puts his shades on, rubs his head and stands up. He then asks the dealer to spread the pot. He sits down, he stands up. He asks Alfie will he show if he folds. (No reply) He leans across and asks him again, still no reaction. One minute. Two minutes. Three minutes.... SIX MINUTES - He folds. He says "I know I'm ahead I know I am" and Raggy says in a quiet voice "Well why didnt you call then". Table now excitedly discussing what Alfie had or didnt have. Ste says he folded KJ. If you've got a draw, call. If you've got a shit hand - call. Just call." Latif thinks a bit longer, but Steve has warmed to his theme now. "It's perfectly easy. You just get one of your big stacks and take two chips off and slide it over the line. oh and then add one more chip. Or in fact you could get two half stacks and slide them over" Alfie pipes up "Any more permutations?" Steve thinks and replies "There be but maths was never my strong point." Latif folds. Steve shows 9 10 for top two pairs. Latif now on 2.7M, Steve on around 1.8M. I think, but like Steve, maths isn't my strong point either. Title: Re: DTD £150,000 GTD September Deepstack Live Update Post by: mouth on September 09, 2013, 02:37:21 AM Daniel has played so well and also ran like Usain on an angel powered treadmill. He takes home a massive £36,000, in time to treat himself to an early birthday present as he's 22 on Wednesday.
DTD reg James Raggy Clarke gets a very nice £21,000 for second place, well played to both, and course to all of the final table players. Thank you all for your comments and interaction over the past few days, it's been a blast for me as usual and from the messages I've had, everyone else seems to have enjoyed it as well. See you all again soon! Stu - in the QQ hand I had 22. I was going to bet river but your hand was face up so I just let you have it. Maybe next time I shouldn't flat 100k OOP with 22... but you gotta play that rush. It was great playing with everyone, had a lovely time. I'll be back for the next one! Title: Re: DTD £150,000 GTD September Deepstack Live Update Post by: VM on September 10, 2013, 06:57:17 PM Thanks David.
Tricky question (especially for a probationer). My definition of better would be more likely to progress further...... However, I was surprised at the level of banter and craziness at the table considering what we were playing for. APAT final tables tend to be much more serious than this!
