James "Eck" Eccles has gone for tonight..headed to the bar

He didn't win a hand, including turning a set of Queens and losing to a rivered flush

On his final hand he had top pair with A-K and moved in when raised on the flop

"the table was that active I didn't believe anybody" but lost to a set

Tan Le has done his first bullet but has rebought. A-K flopping the nut flush draw and pushing against a set and missing

Pearson then loses some and runs Q-Q into Kully Sidhu's Aces to depart, presumably until tomorrow

We are up to 92 runners today, with some re-entries as we approach the break at the end of level 4

Duncan McLellan raises in the cut off

Ben Vinson calls on the button

Mark Skeldon 3 bets the big blind and both call

they see a  Kc 2d 2h flop

Skeldon leads and is called twice

 Ad turn

Skeldon leads and is called twice

 Qd

Skeldon bets 13,000 into 17,000

McLellan shoves for 53,000

Vinson folds

Skeldon goes into the tank. I think it might be the longest think I have encountered in hundreds of these events

He carries on thinking

McLellan's Adam's apple is bobbing. I wonder if Skeldon notices. He doesn't as his hoodie is on and he is rocking back and forth in his seat

I think McLellan is anxious, anyway

Skeldon eventually folds and McLellan flips the bluff-tastic  7s 4s

Skeldon "I ******* knew it!" and throws his head back

McLellan affords himself an almost imperceptible smile

exits

55    Simon Brooks
56    Joe Smith
57    Joe Leszczynski
58    Michael Skeldon
59    John Stephen Boyd
60    Chris Procopiou
61    Stephen Mccarthy
62    Tamara King
63    Tony Broadbent

65    Anonymous

there were, in the end 110 entries and re-entries today so we are now at 155 with Saturday to come, 145 required to hit £150,000

tonight with three levels to play blinds  go 500-1000, average 81,000

13 went through last night, expecting 20-30 tonight.

Chip leader I think is Dean Czyz with 155,000

With 50 left, 4 of the 7 chip leaders are sat in a row on table 21

With a combined age of over 250

Mark Wates, Anthony Nicholls, Greek Jack and Anthony Arlott each with 150,000+ and pretty much triple average at 500-1000

the other chip leaders are Duncan McLellan (the man is aggressive, constant shoves, big raises, putting opponents to the test), and Dean Czyz and Doig Rudling on his table too

Two of the six remaining tables are very top heavy in chips compared to the rest

Raggy Clarke raises on the button

Rana Gurnam shoves 21,000 small blind

Anthony Gardner re-shoves for 28,000 big blind

Clarke calls both

Clarke K-Q

Gurnam 10-10

Gardner A-K

An Ace arrives on the turn to triple Gardner up and knock out Gurnam

Brijesh Das raises to 2500

Kev Smith three bets 6300

Das shoves for 65,000

Smith is holding AK platying 60,000

He calls

Das has 5-5

The pair holds to win a 125,000 flip for Das and knock Smith out

flop 9-9-----A

Chinese Frankie is an early chip leader winning a big pot against Maurice Samuels

Frankie in the big blind with Q-Q flopped K-Q-J all diamonds

led flop and called

led 5 turn and called

led 5 river, housing him up and Samuels folded

--

Meanwhile two tables along there is a limped pot between three players

on a A-2-4 flop there are five raises, and the A-2 of George Peppercorn moves all in on the last

Paul Hardwidge finds a call all in with.....3-3

4 turn

8 river

and we have our first exit of the 80 runners so far today

Quite surprised at numbers. Must be a lot of Rugby fans about, that or the weather + saving monies for UKPC.

Is it just me that thinks that £500 is considerably less appealing than £300?

Tasos Grigoriou is the chipleader

3 hands in quck succession

He raised in the cut off and Chris Sly called in the big blind

Sly check called 7-K-K

and check raised on the A turn

call

Grigoriou K-Q

Sly K-5

Queen on the river

--

He then called a raise with Q-5 in the big blind

flopped second pair, turned two pair and Umar Khan shoved with top pair

--

Umar rebought, sat down again and then had flush under flush against the same player to do two bullets in ten minutes

Right 7 levels into today as we hit the third break

123 entries, so far showing 11 re-entries and that closes in 25 minutes

10 short of the GTE, going to be a player or two either way I suppose

With 94 of 134 currently left the blinds go 300-600 after the break, playing to around 11pm

exits

95    James Metcalf
96    Asif Raja
97    Anthony Nicholls
98    Stephen Ayres
99    Paul Jackson
100    Andy Priestley
101    David Nisbet

The £150 Deepstack has a £30,000 GTE, open to 9.45pm

Currently 65 runners and a £20,000 overlay

If you have Saturday night free...you could do worse....

Carol Nichols limps

Like a Hammerhead shark about to punce on its prey Simon Deadman limps on the button

Both blinds complete/check including Neil Strike in the big blind

9-3-6

Strike leads for 1,000 at 300-600 and Deadman is the only caller

8 turn

Strike checks

Deadman 5200

Strike checks his cards, raises an eyebrow, looks at Simon and calls

river A

No flushes possible

Strike checks

Deadman 8,000

Strike check raises to 16,000

A bit of speech play which I miss because I am looking at a new valet

I look back to the table

Deamn folds and Strike it Lucky shows him 10-7 suited for the turned nuts

The final number of runners is I think 138

Making 293 total and 7 short

We are now into Level 9 400-800

138 today, 86 left

Tasos Grigoriou is still chip leader

Any counts you want just holler. Keep me going, getting too old for this.

Chris Vernon is out

Most of the damage was done when he lost with a set of Jacks against A-K which turned a broadway straight

He then shoved second pair on the flop and had run into a set, his opponent turned Quads

He's taken his hat off, so that is some consolation

Title: Re: DTD £150,000 February £500 Deepstack
Post by: TightEnd on February 01, 2014, 08:25:21 PM
Alex Spencer opens in the cut off

Gary Holden shoves 14,000 on the button

Lalith Sheena in the big blind reshoves 60,000

Spencer CALLS all in with Q-Q

Sheena has A-K

Unlucky Gary, who flips A-J

Flop 2-J-2

turn J

Thats the treble up then

Queens win the side pot

Holden has progressed since and now has 55,000 at 4-800, average 50,000

blinds go 500-1000

average is 56,000

With 42 through before today we are set to bring back around 40 from today and c80-85 for tomorrow to fight over the £150,000 prize pool

There is still a £14,000 overlay in the 150, late reg open to 9.45pm. If you are close enough, come and grab a share of the value

Gary Holden raises to 2500

He gets 4 callers

They see a 3-J-J flop

It is checked to Ish Sadiq, the second of the four callers who bets 3,000

Van Phan calls

Sunil Mistri calls in the big blind

Holden calls

Only Lalith Sheena folds

4 ways to a King turn, with now two flush draws on board

All check

8 river, not completing a flush

All check again

Ish flips two red nines

Holden flips...Aces, and wins the pot as the others muck

Andrew Tuxworth knocked Maria Demtriou out. She was moved tot able Goulder, lost some chips then raised with 9-9

Andrew Tuxworth moved in from the bigt blind with A-K, she called and he won the flip

--

Nick Hicks knocked out Richard Pearson. Hicks raised, Pearson jammed 24,000 from the bb with 9-9. Hicks "I will double you up" called with A-10 and turned an Ace

--

Another table now has Ceri Rees, Tommy Binghama nd Andrew Hulme

Rees and Bingham have well north of 100,000 each

Hulme about 80,000.

I ask him how it is going

"A lot better now I have stopped trying to bluff Ceri" comes the phlegmatic reply

After a limp, Jamie Sykes makes it 10,000. Rehman Kassam jams 31,500 with 6-6

Sykes calls with 9-9 and holds

He is now up to 140,000 having started on 48,000

UTG raises and Nick Hicks calls in the cut off

Kevin Houghton 3 bets the small blind and both call

J-Q-6

Check to Hicks who bets

Houghton check raise all in

UTG folds

Hicks calls with 6-6

Houghton A-A

turn K

River A

to double Houghton up and send Hicks down to 23,000

--

Nick then gets that 23,000 in with K-Qs versus 3-3 and they see a 3-K-6 flop. Q on the turn to rub it in

Nick is out 78th or so

There are six tables left and walking around them just now I think Willie Tann and Greek Jack are chip leaders with nearly 300,000 each at 2000-4000

--

One table in particular has an interesting dynamic. Tommy Bingham and Simon Deadman sandwich a number of smaller stacks such as David Milligan, Richard Rudders and Andrew Wayman

Simon keeps showing me his cards when the hand concludes. On one particular hand Bingham did too. He raised, Deadman three bet and Bingham 4 bet

Deadman folded. Showed me. Bingham beckoned me over. Showed me. I wondered if they were playing blackjack and wanted doubling sown advice, not poker

--

Elsewhere on the next table Jamie Sykes has 210,000 and is now next to Mark Wates with just a bit less. Tom Ambler 170,0000 and Martyn Frey a similar stack are also on this table

--

At the far end of the room British Gas and Kevin Houghton are sat side by side, both with over 200,000

--

In the middle Lee Taylor and Ish the fish are chip leaders on one table, with Junior Hill clinging on grinding a short-stack

--

On the middle tier a table with Anthony Arlott and Ceri Rees is quite fun. Arlott just bet the river of 5-4-4-4-5 into Rees, who called with A-K and chopped with Q-9. This is Willie Tann's table. Willie finalled the £40,000 GTD last week

Check from Rudling

17,000 from Prodhan

All in from Rudling covering Prodhan

Prodhan calls all in for 120,000

Prodhan Aces

Rudling Sevens

turn 6

river 8

Rudling now a 375,000 chip leader after cracking the Aces

A big pot creates a new leader

In the small blind Suited Anon with Queens has 300,000

In the big blind Laith Sheena has A-K and covers

Totting up its a 660,000 pot

All in pre after I think 5 raises.

Sheena hits an Ace on the flop to go to a big chip lead and knock Suited out

Cattell check calls 15,000

Cattell check calls 28,000

Deadman shows Ad 3d and is good with rivered two pair

Martyn Frey is giving as good as he gets on table 13

Tom Ambler opened to 12,000

Jamie Sykes called and on the button Frey deliberately measured out then bet 75,000

eliciting two quick folds

--

On the fare table Guy Barron got his last 40,000 in with K-J in the small blind against James bott on the button with 6-6

Sixes held to knock Barron out 40th

--

On a near table Willie Tann has a really good seat, in the blinds to Bingham and Deadman in the cut-off, Button, covering both.

Some initial signs since Tann moving there that is slowing Deadman down a bit, not so easy to win ophan pots out of position to a bigger stack in the hands of the experienced player

On the bubble Martin Hogarty raises on table Deadman-Tann

In the big blind David Milligan who has been conducting a never ending vigil over his short-stack for several hours, shoving once every couple of rounds uncalled to keep his head above water.....

Shoves for 49,000 at 3-6k

Hogarty calls with Tens

Milligan has Aces

Aces double Milligan up on 9-2-K-3-2

We are still hand for hand

Neil runs the local Legion poker league and patiently listens to every bad beat story that never was plus explanations of why a player made such a move etc, without ever betraying his real emotions. Polite to one and all, regardless of their development on the Cro Magnon scale.

Deserves to win for this alone.

Photo if possible? Also please tell him caroline says GL.

The bubble has burst in another monster pot

I only arrived on the river, I am afraid, to see Greek Jack all in with Q-10 on

7-6-10-10-K

Chip leader Laith Sheena though has 7-7 to knock him out

At a rough guess this is a 400,000 pot from the pile of chips being shipped Laith's way

He now has well over 1m

play is continuing at the old level until we lose a player

Want to know what distortions the Sky seats are causing?

Tann raises to 38,000

Grafton calls

Marshall 200,000 on the button playing 700,000

Sheena the chip leader passes (forget I told you this) something between tens and queens in the small blind

Tann and Grafton pass

Marshall shows A-Khh

Sheena "thats what I put you on"

(so call, please, and try and win the tournament lol)

That's Karma in action for you!

Well played Doig . well played Anon lol .Tighty you make the updates far more than just cards and numbers. Other updaters such as pokerstars could learn a lot from you . All they ever do is offer staggered updates that focus purely on big pokertstars names with no analysis or humour. They are always slow , focus far too much on their own players and offer very little insight into players' thinking behind certain hands. Anyway enough of singing your praises thanks again and see you for the next one . What price on Anon winning next week?

Isn't there a way that people have to agree to not be anon? I'm sure I've had to sign waivers before in some comps.

Also, is the person that was taken ill ok?

Not sure about the ill player. Left in an ambulance, but walked to it which was good news

Anyone can opt to be anonymous before a comp, and the DTD system will be pdated to that effect and I stick to that

Opting to be so when they were about to cash large was an interesting one

DTD don't operate a system of waiver forms/signatures before their comps

If I was @ DTD I would not allow Anon's.

If it was in the T&C's of the Casino they have a choice weather to play or not. I don't think a "Anon" does any good
to promote grass roots poker or make a winners story re-portable for outside media and marketing.

They seem to feature quite alot in later stages of Tournaments. So they must be good players of the game
as a grouping of " Anons"

If they have taken a shot with the online Satellites which many overlay and are not willing to be part of the updates
or tell there story of a £5 Sat turning into a £35000 Bink. It's not bringing anything to the party for DTD.
or to encourage the grass root player into having a punt.

Try being Anon at the EPT or a wsop event. Don't think it would happen.

Tighty cracking updates as always. You have Patience of a saint.

Ban Anons i say you have nothing at all to lose.

Regards

A players decision to be anonymous should be respected. When they are employed in the real world by a very big company they have valid reason to not want this information accessible by current and future employers.

He was a bit laith asking to be anon though Yian. How would employment issues change between being simply an entrant in a poker comp and being a FTist in a poker comp? Just random. But whatever, horses for courses, grats to the guy

Edit: Wait think I'm beginning to understand....

Hope he didn't pull a sickie.
