The six max format has caught a few out along the way, as has the format of antes involved from the start. It's going to be quick early on, you expect, as a few of those who carried their bat through to today will have to spin their stacks up to a more playable holding. Those sitting with towers will be hoping they can add new floors and turrets. Others will be checking the displays all day, willing the numbers to drop below the bubble. Cheer for your favourites, please. Let's get the interaction high for the next few hours and we can have some fun. 14 1 James Lee 14 2 Brandon Sheils 14 3 Philip John Crossley 14 4 Ernest Brace 14 5 Timothy Chung 14 6 Mark Roberts Chung has a tickle over 300k and is keeping a good eye and a half on his fantasy football team. He calls me over to ask me whether I have a fantasy team (opening bet). I reply by informing him I have Callum Wilson in it (raise) and note he's just scored his second of the day. Tim then asks who my captain is (4 betting my 3bet range is pretty ballsy) and I confirm it was Rooney. Tal taps table. Mucks. Title: Re: Sky Poker UKPC Six Max £250,000 GTD at DTD Day Two Post by: Tal on August 22, 2015, 05:01:28 PM As Tighty has mentioned, the likely chip leader is Leo McLean. He has north of 700k. I've just watched a round on his table, also featuring runner up in the High Roller, Guy Taylor (my list of who sits where has yet to be updated, so apologies if I get any wrong, but I recognise that haircut).
Stacy Coore opens to 10k and is called by Matthew Noble in the 6 seat big blind. They see a flop of 9s 6c 4h Noble checks, Coore cbets 11k and receives a call. Turn 2s Check again, 15k from Coore (take the hint, son, he says with his body language). Noble now check-raises to 50k. Coore thinks...thinks...calls. River 5d Noble checks again. My head hurts at this point. What on Earth does he have? This is why I'm on the rail, of course. Coore shoves his remaining stack in, which I make out to be around 130k. It's enough anyway, as Noble gives up. Any ideas what either of them had? I don't have a scooby. His mom and dad (DTD regs) railed him the entire day. He was considered, calm, thoughtful without taking the mickey and fearsomely accurate in calling people's hands. In other words, a flipping PITA to have to your left in a £500 comp.
He's just doubled up to about 100k QQ > 33 (one of those 2,4,5 scary boards...) I just had a chat with his father, himself a former Grand Prix winner. Tom has just turned 18 and has cashed in two events already, the second of which was a fourth in a £300 deepstack, here at DTD for £2,100 earlier this month. Must be nice. He has played in home games since he was 7 years old. Now working with Paul Jackson and can count Sam Trickett as a friend. This may not just be a kid for the future, but one for the present. It'll be interesting to see how long the bubble lasts when it comes. The big stacks will be hoping ages. Gobble gobble.

Robb check-calls 16k. Turn is Js and they check to the river of Td. Another pair of checks and Campbell's Js Tc wins. Title: Re: Sky Poker UKPC Six Max £250,000 GTD at DTD Day Two Post by: Tal on August 22, 2015, 06:43:18 PM It quickly becomes apparent that Campbell isn't a man who relinquishes chips happily. His initial raise of 12k UTG is called by the big blind, George Devine. With a starting board of Ahrt Qc 5h, Devine check-raises from 13 to 29. After a dwell, Campbell decides he is probably behind. He dwells more. You never know. Ok, you win this round, but I'm going to be taking this out on someone.
You know those moments in the horror films where one of the characters steps into the baddie's lair and accidentally leans on a trap door activating bookcase, awakening the beast? Well, the very next hand, Richard "Eso Kral" Blacklock opens under the gun to 14k. Blacklock is getting a massage from a girl who looks visibly tiring at the challenge before her. No idea how long she's been working those shoulders, but there's another girl nearby, possibly about to tag in. I can only imagine Eso needs to come 3rd or better to break even. Anyway, back to my metaphor: Eso raises and Campbell makes it 38k to go. Campbell is stoic and mechanical in dark shades. I can't get a read on Eso but the massage girl grabs a chair to stand on so she can make some progress on his tightening trapezia. They see a flop of Kc 5d 5c. Eso stares. Check check. Js Campbell now leads 40k. Eso stares some more. The massage girl breaks through her patient's ripping muscles, which I take to be advanced notice of what comes, as Eso folds. He has about 450k by my eyes. Title: Re: Sky Poker UKPC Six Max £250,000 GTD at DTD Day Two Post by: TightEnd on August 22, 2015, 06:46:24 PM With 80 left at 3,000-6,000 and average 320,000

He loses flips about as frequently as I dance at weddings). Then he tells me he lost it to Brandon Shiels, which I confess does add some credibility to the story.
Folded round to Chung on the button, he opens to 15k and snaps when the big blind shoves, putting Chung's 90-odd thousand at risk. James Lee: 5c 5s Chung: Aspades Qs I make Lee about 20% from here. Not one of the Skybet folk will lay me a penny. Referred to trader my eye. 6s 7s 6h Ad Ts and the overkill on the river doubles Chung up to 197k. Title: Re: Sky Poker UKPC Six Max £250,000 GTD at DTD Day Two Post by: Tal on August 22, 2015, 07:15:19 PM Meanwhile, Handsome Paul Ephremsen continues his steady progress, with a solid 600k stack. Tom Haney has just lost with AA v 55, played down to the river, after a 5 pinged on the flop and all the draws missed. He is back on 160k and needs some assistance.

Train was full, so I elected to go into the little section of one of the two carriages partitioned off for first class. Empty. £10 weekend upgrade? Yes, please. Marvellous. Bliss. Just as the train doors beep-beep-beep-beep for closure, in bumble three middle aged blokes, whose levels of inebriation vary from functioning to steaming. Their conversation - barely two feet apart but at a conservative 80 decibels - shortly informs me they are all employees of the train company. I can't even get them chucked off if they get out of line! I've paid a tenner to sit in this raucous, testosterone-fuelled nonsense. I believe this is a Nash equilibrium: I stay and put up with Sir Toby Belch, Feste and Sir Andrew Aguecheek; or I look for another seat and waste a tenner. What would Russell Crowe do? Well, having established I couldn't ignore them entirely (we occupy for of the nine total seats in first class), I elected to answer the third question directed at me by looking confused and speaking in broken English. They are now having fun continuing their banter and the one who has enjoyed himself the most is occasionally making remarks about me to the team captain ("izzie foreign?", "he don't work ferrus, duzz ee?", "fancy paying a tenner to listen to us ******s!"). What a change of pace from quiet to deafening. Coach C must stand for Capricious. Still, I've committed to this "foreign" bluff now, so I'm barrelling all the way. Ace high is probably good anyway. Good luck to all those left in. And to those in the mini.
