Good luck to Jon Spinks.

Is Sonnert 'Gulkines' online?

He used to be pokerbt or similar on Ladbrokes 2 or 3 years ago. I think he had some sort of arrangement with them at the time - can't think of any other reason he would have been playing like a pillock in a $10 SnG.

Could there have been an IP address change which hasn't populated to all ISPs' DNS servers yet? Can someone for who it is working ping www.apat.com and tells us what the IP address is please.

Anyone know anything about this? The channel has just launched and I've caught a bit this afternoon. Good to see Patrick Kinghorn back on TV.

His flirtation with Conference football on SatanTV didn't last long - didn't even make it to the halfway point of the season.

Both of those are ABS chips according to the description.

Customised or not, that's a fortune to spend on plastic chips. Essentially I doubt they are any nicer to handle than a £25 set of 500 dice chips from Ebay.

9g to 10g is the traditional casino weight for chips - don't believe what some sellers tell you about 11.5 or higher being casino weight.

I don't know for sure but the chips used on the Matchroom 6-seater shootouts (World/European Opens etc) look like and sound like ceramics of some description. Can't remember what the Late Night Poker ones were.

marlowpokerchips are the UK Chipco and Paulson dealer. You can buy a samples from them. They have a shop on Ebay and are reputable.

Of course these things are all a matter of opinion and choice, but I think you might regret spending that sort of money on ABS chips. If you want customised, I would advise buying the absolute cheapest set of ABS chips that give you the quantities and denominations you need for your game now (there's no need for more than 4 colours in a set of 500 that will accomodate 8 people in SnGs with no trouble - my set has 200x5, 170x25, 90x100 and 40x500). Then save your money until/if you can afford to get clays or ceramics customised.

But as I say, it's all down to personal choice, and there is such a thing as chip snobbery.

Why do you want 13.5g or 14g chips? That means the chips are likely to have a metal slug in them and make a metallic clinky noise when they go in. Heavier does not ncessarily mean better. My Chipco ceramics are 10g and that is plenty of weight in a chip.

If you don't want to spend the money for ceramics (of which the Casino Club chips linked to earlier are the cheapest available) or for clay chips (the likes of Paulsons) then there's little point spending any more than it costs for the cheapest set of 500 composite chips for which you can specifiy the colour breakdown. Every extra pound you spend is a pound that could have been saved towards your ceramics or clays.

As posted earlier by someone, homepokertourney.com has loads of advice on the breakdown of chip sets.

Chip prices for 500:

Paulson clays or Chipco ceramics £330 approx give or take a fiver or tenner depending on which design
Casino club ceramics £150
11.g upwards composites - don't spend more than £30 - there's really no point and you should consider them to be a homogeneous product at this level - they all do the same job and you'll probably want to change them once you've handled some ceramics or clays.

Bottom line - either spend the money on nice chips (get samples) or spend the very least you can spend. There's a lot of ground in the middle which is spending money unnecessarily. IMO of course!

They ruined MTV (for me) when they set up the slushy MTV Europe.

Hmm, I hated the whole concept of MTV from day 1*. I hate the way that music became as much about the visuals in a video as about the sound. Those Queen boys have a lot to answer for. Without THAT video, who knows, maybe no MTV. Multimedia music? No thanks - close eyes and listen.

With the exception of the times they and their offshoots have presented live performances.

I'm going to back every one on the blonde team, and some of the Chezger players.

That's most of the blondes bokked.

If the Newcastle Virgin festival is any guide won't the Blonde captain have his work cut out to make sure the team are all present and seated by the start?  Grin

Kara Scott, in today's Day 1c of the WSOP Main Event, finished the day with over 90,000! Interestingly, she shared a Table with Isabelle Mercier.

Very nice.

Tikay, if you see Kara before she starts Day 2 can you wish her good luck from the EMS crew please.

You should check out Shoreham airport if you like your ArtDeco airports:

It doubles as a concert venue doesn't it? I recall Sam Brown played a gig in there a few years ago.

On the 2+2 Pokercast they've been asking questions about the WPT....events droppiing off the calendar (not just Paris)......reduced numbers at events......increasingly narrow view of what "World" means and so on.
