Heh that cash pot sounds pretty nasty.
I gave it a go aswell played 8 or 9 20mans and got something like 3rd,4th,4th,5th and 6th....
From what i saw yesterday it doesn't look worth to play the single tables either as they were filled with regs, at least 3 in every 5 and 6 in every 10 man, combine that with 20% getting paid and 3 minute levels and they are very likely going to be -EV even for a solid player. Think I'll be forced to give this one a miss unfortunately.

Yeah i agree with everything being said tbf and i don't really support paying on day 2 of a 3 day event or a high % of the field for that matter, however the GP is a little unique because it's not quite a deepstack so after 15 levels, day 2 will be 20% or less pretty much always, which isn't too bad to adjust payouts for 1 event if it will attract more people who now have a better chance of guaranteeing some return.
also the GP has a significantly higher the usual % of players traveling and paying the costs associated with that, so a mincash upon reaching day 2 would sound a more attractive prospect to most players on the fence about potentially being in for a few hundred £ imo

I don't understand why you feel it would have a negative effect to pay all day 2 players?
Seeing as there is going to be max 15% total left, that's a pretty standard payout structure. Also I'd argue the 20-30 people who wouldn't get paid for making day 2 would be more pissed having to come back down to notts from far and wide only to bust soon after and leave with nothing.

maybe all day 2 returns could now be guarenteed a min cash?
just saying.....
Agree with this because it will likely pretty shallow already and everybody nitting it up for 2 levels will just mean the average reaches >20bb at the most important stages of the tourny

Yea it was the last GP (or the 1 before) where they rolled back the blinds a couple of levels on day 2 (could of been day 3 not 100%) as the average was like 30bb or something laughable.
I think all players who get through would appreciate this again especially as the average stack is probably going to be even more shallow this time around if we accept that this weeks day 1s will most likely get less numbers, meaning the average stack will also less. I'd even go as far to say it could possibly be all over by the end of day 2.

Lol i was exaggerating. Boss is the most tilting network tho, ainc.
And i play there because it's my local poker room.
All i'm saying is i think the games could be improved for all parties with some not so drastic changes.
