I'm in there too - playing as ZenTaff.
It looks fantastic, but I wonder how long it'll be before the voices and the chip tricks and stuff get a bit boring/irritating.
Doesn't half make your computer work hard too. My CPU was constantly flat out while the software was open.
Looks very promising though.

After reading about some of the problems other people are having I'm glad to say I've managed to register and deposit successfully. Hurray! Thankfully, I was able to register the name "ZenTaff", thus avoiding any confusion. I suppose that's the benefit of having an unusual 'handle'. I've registered for the tournament at 7pm and I'll be there unless the traffic is particularly bad on the M4 tomorrow night. Cheers all.

has it only been two months.
I've started to forget what life was like before this farce of a tourney started.
when you've got players like roy brindley and dave ulliot comparing it to a crapshoot you might as well turn over and watch newsnight
Yeah I agree. I'll tune in to see how El Blondie does in the final, but it's awful stuff most of the time. Brindley took a couple of brutal beats to go out in his heat, and Ulliott just looked as if he was totally sick of playing these six-handed TV things. He moved all-in with K3 because he was pretty short-stacked and a guy called for about half his own stack with pocket fours - while there were still six players left at the table. It's as if everyone thinks he's trying to make a move on them these days, to the point where he can't even make value bets either. "He must've figured me for two higher cards, so why would he want to risk doubling me up?" is what he said to Jesse afterwards.

Well, you mentioned that you weren't a big fan of the name, so I thought I'd suggest something else.
What's wrong with Zen? You'll get called that for short anyhow.
Yeah, that's cool. Thanks for the suggestion Snoopy. And you're quite right, everyone calls me "Zen" at Poker Stars anyway. I'll stick with Zen Taff then - no more complaining from me. Plus, when I get a chance to make my debut at one of the blonde Sunday tournaments, at least you and Tank will know who I am now.

You can change your alias on blonde, Zen Taff, just by editing your profile options.
Did you know 'Scottish Dave' used to be just 'Dave'?!
LOL. Are you beginning to regret suggesting that I explain my username yet Snoopy? My blonde username "Zen Taff" is fine (although my name is also Dave, so I could change it to "Welsh Dave" if it makes things easier). I meant that I wish you could go back and change certain names you've used at poker rooms, because at some places I'm stuck with crap stuff like "dave5472". In comparison, I think I can happily live with "Zen Taff".

I'd stick to Zen Taff if I were you, it's funky.
Zaff sounds like a household cleaning product or something.
LOL - that's true. I hadn't thought of that. I just wish you weren't stuck with a particular name once you sign up to a particular poker site. I can never make my mind up.

Snoops suggested to me on another thread that I should come over and explain the origin of my username - Zen Taff, so here goes:
It's basically pretty self-explanatory really.
The 'Zen' bit comes from my interest in zen philosophy. The 'Taff' bit is because I'm Welsh.
I kind of got it from another British online player one rainy Sunday afternoon while playing at Paradise Poker. We found ourselves at a table full of north americans, so we chatted a bit. Then he put a bit of a bad beat on me and apologised. I said something like, "well, that's poker" and he replied "Hmm, a zen taff". I thought - "I'm having that." Perhaps in some small way I can help to reclaim the word "taff" and make it sound less derogatory for us taffs.
Actually, the more I think about it, the crapper that story gets and the more I'm going off the name. It's a good job I use a few different names at other sites.

Well, I feel a bit guilty that my first blonde post is kind of promoting my own poker blog, but what the hell. I have to start somewhere, don't I? There's a link to my blog in my signature at the bottom if anyone wants to take a look. And seeing as how I haven't completed all my answers to the Blondeite profile questions yet (some of them need a bit of thought actually), I might as well tell you all a little bit about myself while I'm at it. I suppose I'm a bit of an oddity in poker terms these days, because I spend most of my time playing less fashionable games like fixed limit hold'em, split pot games, and stud (even razz ocassionally!) rather than concentrating on no-limit hold'em tournament play. I just like the idea of being a bit of an all-rounder and playing a tiny part in trying to keep the traditional forms of the game alive too. Having said that though, I did win a no-limit hold'em tournament on Poker Stars last week which was set up and attended by celebrity poker blogger <start shameless name drop>Wil Wheaton<end shameless name drop> (formerly Star Trek's Wesley Crusher, no less). It was all a bit surreal playing against American poker bloggers and a celebrity actor, especially when I tried to explain to them that I was from a small town in Wales while simultaneously playing heads-up at the end, so it's good to make the acquaintance of some British poker bloggers (and non-bloggers too, of course). Okay, I'm going to stop now because you'll all think I'm mental. Nice to be here anyway folks, and thanks for having me!
