Nice report Ralph, it puts my updates to shame. It was nice meeting you and hopefully you will make it to the next tourny we put on. There are obviously little things that we will change but all in all we were extremely happy with how the festival went. It was a great atmosphere that was created by a fun group of players and added to by the helpful and courteous casino staff.
Nice report M3boy, hopefully your luck in the big tournaments will change.

Poker Forums / Poker Hand Analysis / Insane hand from the golden sands festival
|
on: August 19, 2007, 09:15:38 PM

I thought this hand was worth highlighting from earlier today in the £50 rebuy at the Golden Sands Festival in Torquay.
The £50 rebuy kicked off earlier with 60 runners and 3 ½ hours into the tournament we witnessed one of the most crazy hands in the history of poker. With blinds of 800-1600 we saw the following.
First to act puts in half his stack for 4000, followed by a pass then an all in for 18,000. This was followed by an all-in for 23,000, pass, call all-in for 13,500, sb passed and BB had a think and folded. UTG called all in for another 5000. Then in order they proceeded to show pocket 10s, pocket Jacks, pocket queens and the initial raiser showed aces. The flop came 10, rag, rag, the turn was a queen and the river was a rag. (For the record the player in BB had folded pocket kings and he was in between the queens and aces.
So Trip Queens took about 51,900 and the trip tens took the side pot for about 9,000. Somehow I doubt that any of us will ever see a hand like that again. If only it had been filmed as I doubt anyone will believe us.

You're hired! Now working as Bongo's agent. If anyone needs any supermarkets opening give me a call on 0800 Bongo. It's so quiet.... tick tock, tick tock.. No wonder there is no pay for this role, you don't do anything OK, now taking bookings for newsagent openings I'm waiting.....

40 appointments in 40 hours + Excellent customer service? compile reports and feedback, whats the overtime pay like never done sales, is that no overtime? The appointment target was purposely set at a high level as we want potential applicants to realise this is a full time job. Sales people will not be able to just work 20 hours a week and expect to keep their job. The target we are more concerned with is the number of new venues signed up each month as this dictates the financial viability of us continuing to employ a particular salesperson. We have also created a further benefit that really eclipses everything else about the job. Successful applicants will be given the job title of "Business Development Executive." That title must be equivalent to at least an extra 2k a year. I would quite happily work for free if I could have that title. On a serious note. Thanks to all the applicants that have applied so far and we are looking forward to meeting some of you.

plus a company car nowadays is not a benefit, it's a liability.
More companies should look into travel allowances rather than the PAYE employee forking out each month on a benefit in kind
I don't know about you but I would quite like having a car for which I did not have to pay the garage bills. I am fairly sure that the bills I would not have to pay would more than cover any additional tax. Perhaps I've just got a crap car. Current ailment - windscreen wipers have stopped working. Doh!

All im going to add is if this job was advertised for the welsh area i would jump at it.
The key geographic locations are the North West, North East, Scotland and Yorkshire but we may expand this if the right candidate applies.Lets see you jump

How can anyone complain about something their not interested in, if you dont want or need the job then why comment. Just because your paid more or get more holiday doesn't mean its an automatic entitlement. No-one is dumb enough to advertise a job with anything that is contrary to employment law... therefore if a certain amount of holiday is advertised and thats fine!
I'm pretty sure some people have posted up jobs that break employment laws but in this case it does not appear to be the case. As long as the salespeople are paid for bank hoidays then they can count as part of the minimum of 20 days for a full time employee.

Was The Nuts PL the original one?
There have been lots of small leagues around for quite a while, but it has only really been in the last year and a half that anyone has attempted to take it to a national level. As for the wage there are plenty of people who would be quite happy earning 20k a year doing something they enjoy.

Poker Forums / The Rail / Learning to deal
|
on: April 28, 2006, 06:34:10 PM

Hi everyone, I am trying to learn how to deal properly and I was wondering if anyone has any tips about where to look to find advice. Something along the lines of the Dummies guide to dealing that would tell me about such things as what to do after a misdeal etc. If people could point me in the right direction I would be most grateful.
Cheers
