1  Poker Forums / Poker Hand Analysis / Re: Deep (250bb) tricy spot HU. on: May 25, 2008, 08:27:27 PM
Alex as a player who's logged about 40k hands at 200nl HU i'm perfectly happy getting AI on the flop.
Btw HU players snap call 4 bets OOP way too often with weak holdings (alot weaker than AQ), this scary board can be great for villain to lead with a wide range and in return i love Totalise's idea of min-raising the flop as some players make gigantic spewy shoves with x or worse pair w/ d because "they had fold equity"
Flatting / jamming a safe turn would be an ok line with overpair no diamond.

3 more reasons i hate turning this hand into a bluff:

Villain has show down equity - After he calls the turn we can put him on min of TP or st draw with a diamond so by the river he has a min of TP

We still have excellent showdown value with basically the nut non flush hand (id rather consider turning 1 pair into a bluff which could fold out 2 pair combos)

200nl Villains who limp call raises are incapable of river value betting medium strong hands when checked to

Like Longy said it's a preflop leak.

in general players should fight the temptation of calling preflop min raises by giving them the same level of respcect you would give a x4 BB raise. Also the good pot odds are deceptive as villains tend to have weak holdings denying you impied odds when you flop big.

In this hand your river range will be polarised between the or bluffs.
For example it would make sense for you to shove the river with yet for you to value bet all 3 streets you are repping    combos of AA, AK and AQs which is only a small part of your preflop range.
It makes no sense for you to play a hand containing  so aggressivly over 3 streets.
Therefore if you bet the river too often it will be apparent you are turning made hands into bluffs. Regs will notice this and call you down lighter or proitably float hoping to hit whilst u stack off bluff repping that exact hand.

I hope this helps you Moskvich.

I suppose in Jocklish it could be pronounced ar-ris-hole.  But in English, two syllables definitely.

in jockish i say 2, cus well the answer is 2 what "rs-hole" could think it was 4!?
6  Poker Forums / The Rail / disconnections with Vista on: August 18, 2007, 03:38:17 PM
After buying a new Dell laptop with windows Vista i keep on getting disconnected from Pokersites (FT / Party / Ladbrokes) after either a few hands or 1/2 hours.
What happens is the software freezes and if i click on the lobby a window pops up displaying: close program or wait for response.

've tried changing / switching off firewalls and secuirity settings, not running PO to and various internet connections to no avail , can anybody help me please?
7  Poker Forums / Poker Hand Analysis / Re: cash game hand on: August 18, 2007, 03:23:36 PM
So how would have been the best way to play the hand? I usually steer well clear of cash games as i'm a tournament monkey but my thought process during the hand was.

There have been two limpers so with my $4 that puts $18 in the pot - i dont particularly want to play QQ in a family pot so i raise the pot to force the limpers to pass.

Now i get reraised by the only player at the table with a bigger stack than me - he has been showing agression in the other hands while i've been at the table but usually he has been overbetting the pot preflop and everyone has passed so he hasnt shown that many hands down.

I decide that flat calling is probably the best option and then i can reassess when the flop comes down.

Once the flop comes 6-2-6 he comes out firing again, which i expected him to but i figure i have the best hand - so how is the best way to play it from here?

given the wide range agg players will 3bet / cont bet QQ looks huge here
since you don"t know if this guy is going to fire multiple barrells post flop with the wost hand id be happy to raise and play for stacks, leaving back about 300 or the all-in overbet whichever move you think the opponent will interpret as weakest.

nice attempt at a re-steal bertpup but i'd rather make this play with 2 live cards than a raggy ace since your table image didn't sound too good and opps are more likely to start calling you with hands like A-Q A-J and mid PP's
14  Poker Forums / Poker Hand Analysis / Re: MTT final table hand on: October 04, 2006, 09:59:42 PM
I would probably make the call here although i would of preferred to move all-in preflop first as there is already 85k in the pot and I'd be happy to take it down without taking too many chances / be made to make a difficult decision post-flop.

With  you are likely to be ahead of the Sb's range of hands (although it would be different if he had not opened up his game) and  may not get a better chance to double up - plus if you call and win you'll be the chipleader and will be able to apply some pressure on the medium stacks until the shortie busts.

I am not too concerned about scraping a noch up the prize ladder here (look at the $45 diff between 4th n 5th) as most of the money is goes to the top 2.

WP for getting so deep just remember there is only so far you're gonna go without winning a race.

insta call all day long, you are a big fave to win the hand and even if mateboy sucks out , you still have 2600 left - 5 x as much as the shortest stack
