1: I would check-fold this to any action due to stacksizes...

2: Push, M is only 6 - I take my chances against the blinds and hope to triple up. Stack is detoriating too fast, as we pay 5400 each orbit. If you wait, it will still most likely be a coin toss for less chips...

3: Push as this hand is most likely way infront..

What about the STT book at the bottom of the link?   Is that any good?

This is a profile of the guy who wrote it

Collin Moshman graduated in 2003 with an honors degree in theoretical math from Caltech. Later that year, he began playing $0.10-$0.25 cash no-limit hold 'em and $6 Sit 'n Go's. By the time he was crushing the $215's SNGs and beyond, he abandoned his post-graduate studies in economics to focus on Sit 'n Go poker as a full-time career.

During a term of study at Cambridge University, Collin visited Scotland with his father to hoist the famed clach cuid fir - the Scottish stones of manhood. His exploits are detailed in "An Up-Lifting Journey," appearing in the June 2003 issue of MILO Strength Journal. Besides strength training, Collin's interests include free-market economics, dealer's choice home games, and a musical appetite exceeding eclectic.

Lastly, Collin has the Stu Ungar-like quality of wanting to bet on just about everything. His current wager is that he can teach his arts-oriented girlfriend, Katie, to play poker better than she can teach him to sing. If he loses, he promised to post a video of Katie playing an SNG while Collin sings "Doe a Deer" in the background. No joking, so you better stay tuned....

This book as had some mixed reviews. I found it to be a bit basic, although I can't really say what I expected from it. You know when you read a book and you sit there and think: thats it? And you don't really feel that it improved your game any...It is also lacking a bit in the ICM department. After i read it I felt the message of the book was: in the beginning play very tight, in the middle stage you should try to steal some blinds, maybe throw in a resteal here and there - and at the late stage it is push fold. So no, it didn't really bring the revolution...

Thank you, and thank you.  Will buy it then.  Mostly focused on cash games I believe?

The book is written mainly for nl cash games, but it can easily be applied to other games. The thought process it teaches you do not change that much, although other factors may change the outcome Smiley

I would also recommend this book, I found this one pretty valueable and entertaining: http://www.amazon.co.uk/How-Dominate-No-Limit-Hold/dp/143430289X/ref=pd_sim_b_3/203-9601075-0385550

I've also read it, and yes it is very good. Its allot about pot control / stack to pot ratio's and how apply this so that you get an optimum pot size, thereby avoiding tough post flop decisions as much as possible. Would highly recommend it.

I use my PS3 for mainly 3 things. I play the odd round of baseball on it (MLB the Show) and Super Stardust HD (Asteroids on "roids").

The biggest use is for streaming video though. I download stuff from thepokerbay (cash games, tourneys etc) and instead of wathing it on my pc, i stream it over wireless to my PS3, and then view it on my flatscreen TV. Very hot, hehe.

I'd like to join a team as well, if more strays are needed to form a team.

cheers

uhm, does Burn Notice improve after the first 15 minutes? If not, I want my bandwidth and 15 minutes back lol.

I liked it, the way it's put together is different to most shows so may not be to all tastes.
The whole storyline reminds me a little of the A team, highly trained wronged guys help out poor taken advantage of innocents.
Persevere it is worth watching the first couple.

I'll give it another go then. Might just have been that i expected another show - of the more serious tone. Hopefully Bruce Campell will get the show going for me Smiley

If the dude going all in is a decent player, then I would most likely insta fold.

Early pos limper - calls your 4xBB raise and the pushes on pretty harmless flop. You will have to think that he puts you on a pretty decent holding as well after your pre flop action, but still pushes. What kind of hands would you have done that with in his/her's shoes?

You should be "very careful" playing for stacks with only a pair - so if you dont have very good reason to call - fold.

But then again, i suck at cash Smiley

I believe Sam Farha's is releasing a book at the end of the year, might be worth the wait...

Online its a fold interestingly. Live i call

It is an interesting point, and I think I agree. Live I'm sure I call this. Online I don't really like it at all, unless I've already seen anything to suggest that Villain is out to gamble and will do this with just the draw. If you'd said this was online, I suspect the majority of people would say that Villain may well have a set/two pair, but has the nut flush draw at worst, and you're better off binning the . That said, I don't play that much live cash - so why is this? Are live players just worse? Are live players just psychologically more up for a gamble? Is it because it's easier to intimate opponents when playing live, with physical chips and with the threat to the opponent of potentially making a wrong call in front of a load of onlookers..?

Online against a regular it is probably an easy fold, unless as you said some read tells you differently. Do ego come more into play live? I really havnt played live much, but it does seem that alot of players have a problem letting hands go. The speed of the game might also have something to do with it, as online you can be very patient and just wait for the nuts if you prefer...

Other guy was on exactly what it looked like, a flush draw. Ah7x, no help for him on turn or river though...

Online its a fold interestingly. Live i call. Do you know what ur odd's are to win v the nut flush draw?

Not quite sure what you are asking here? Are you asking the likeliness of winning with a nut flush draw assuming the flush hits against probability of villain improving to boat / quads / straight flush?
Or just the percentile of getting to the made flush?

It was pretty sick in this scenario, maybee it wasnt as easy or clear cut as i thought it was. But I did put him on a nut flush draw, I was holding the , the 10h would have given me the straight flush, giving him 7 outs to make his flush draw with 2 cards to come.  Roughly 28 percent chance for him to win with the nut flush. So putting him on the draw, it was an easy call with the odds i had.

He could have had hands like AhAx, ,Kx, AhKh, but I doubt he would have pushed those. Also the preflop action made it seem unlikely. Maybe he had small flush already made, and pushed to protect. But I decided to take my chances against that, although i would have been in bad shape if that was the case (probably what i feared the most, as an overpair or made nutflush seemed very unlikely).

The stacks are tiny because it was the only way we could get a cash game going. Nobody wanted to sit down with more than £60. Would probably make more sense to play .25/.50 with those stacks though, as it it really wasnt much room for play...
