No one looses ... it is just  a bigger downswing ;-)

Thanks tighty, by no means a dig ... hope you didn't take it that way!

As you elude to, I do get the impression that there are several players who log on to see nothing is running and move on to something else. To be honest I have done the same a few times ... log on ... sit in a game if it is running ... or snap depart and get involved elsewhere if nothing is running.

Could an interest board be set up in the members area? Something similar to most big casinos where you can chalk names up with the stakes/game people are interested in, if you get 4+ players in the same niche you summon them by e-mail (as opposed to the DTD tannoy) and hopefully get a game running?

Failing that could players sign up to an e-mail notification list at there chosen stakes ... so once a game is running then they get an e-mail notification ... if they get annoyed by the e-mails they can just opt out, then sign back in when they are available.

Also would it be possible to run some  other variants, mixed games, 5+ card Omaha, Dealers Choice etc. or is that pushing the ipoker software too far??

Just some random thoughts, and they might work better for the higher stakes ... but with the latest cash game promo I imagine there will be no problem with liquidity come Monday ;-)

Enough drunken rambling, best of luck with the project and hopefully I will be donating at the tables some point over the weekend Smiley

So frustrating these games don't run when there are no offers on ... any one up for some pissed up free money at £0.05/.10 Omaha or Hold 'em?

Have to commend Rob and team on the concept, although the 'police line up style' photo on my members page I now have from my first live reg at DTD could probably do with an update ;-)

Never understood this sort of question, especially given the op.

SS ... you are a regular poster, have a blog, contribute to hand analysis, and seem competent at the lower levels.

4-table $25 NL, take slightly feweer risks/marginal situations ... and the chances of losing 8 Buy-ins are (in my opinion for a competent player) less than 10%. Then when you get to $1k ... play more $25 NL.  When you get to $2k you can move up/play MTT or take shots at higher levels with any money over $2k.

Quick calc ... @ 10BB/100 = 120hrs to reach $2k ... 60hrs a month around work and you are there by the end of Jan. In reality if you get rakeback/bonuses you will be there sooner.

Good Luck

Jon.

Opening Week

If you are not in the comps - you can still come down and have a look at the place and have a few drinks, play a few cash games and chill out in a poker only environment- I'll be there at the bar! Everyone is welcome, there are no restrictions.

Cheers Rob

I thought that was reasonably clear  Wink

"If I can't bet win or lose figures on a sports event it doesn't get my juices flowing" ... has to be the quote of the clip.

If I bet $100,000 on anything all my juices would be flowing south!??

Putting my dog down was one of the hardest things I have ever done.

... but after a while you remember the good times, not just when they were ill, and you realise it was the right thing to do.

RIP ted

That was a pretty useless bit of forum browsing to miss both of those!

Thanks for the links, I am in for the first one, and I will try and wangle some time off work for the second one.

I am mainly a cash player ... but I do like the odd trip away for a tournament/piss-up

There is a tournament in Dublin at the start of October ... but I am not sure if it is legit, E100,000 guaranteed.

Myself and a few mates have already booked the flights and accommodation for just over £100, but the only way to register is through a site called mermaid poker, I scrolled through the list of registered players and RookieITB (pro-fish) was in there ... so you see my problem it seems all to good to be true!!?

Anyone no anything about it? Worst comes to the worst we will just have an extended weekend in Dublin on the ale, but I am reluctant to get a dozen of my mates to part with $170 for the buy-in if it may not happen.

I have the details, but I won't post the link in case the Mods get angry

Any blondes who are going let me know

Regards

Jon.

15  Poker Forums / The Rail / Re: blonde league feedback on: June 09, 2007, 10:25:56 PM

Personally I would advocate a simple solution.

With around ten events, declare one as 'rebuy madness' $5 or $10 rebuy (even $3). Players like flushy (and me if I played) can go all in with 'Any Two' and swell the prize pool. If players are averse to it they can skip it and stick to the other nine events ... to get their best five.

It also gives he opportunity for low stakes players to play tight, have limited re-buys, and participate in what is probably going to be the largest prize pool of the league (if they choose).

Keep the other re-buys to 2+ an add-on. This will not 'scare' off players from entering the other events.... but the re-buy madness even will be the most fun!? (and possibly the only event I would play!?)
