He opens for $6, thats 12 big blinds. What did you think of this? Most of the time for me its a scared hand, possibly AQ-AK or small pair. I like your call, because if you reraise and he shoves you might have to fold. You can also get away if there is an ace flop. I might reraise him if I knew more about him.

On the flop you lead into him for less than half the pot and less than the preflop raise. If he has a flush draw he is going to call here. I bet about $9 here to get paid by 77+ and a flush draw. QQ or anything that beats you will reraise here. The fact he called such a small bet here screams to me he cant beat jacks. I might also check raise here since he was the original raiser.

Ten comes on the turn, potentially nothing has changed here. You actually bet less than on the flop, which makes it look like the ten scared you. If I was him with the 55 I would be repotting it right now. I would have bet 2/3rds of the pot here to punish the flush draws and small pairs, by now a ten or a overpair will make themselves known.

I would never bet that river. With no reads on the player, you will only get called by a flush, a ten or better pair/boat. I check here and pick off a bluff from a lesser hand, plus QQ+ is probably going to check behind too. If the guy is a known donkey then bet the river.

So Im betting more on the flop and turn, I make my bets relative to the size of the pot, Im checking the river.

As it goes, you did well to get so much out of 55.

Thanks for that.   I didn't raise big just incase he is sat with a monster, then after he called the first bet my mind started hurling thoughts of AA KK QQ or TT. Hence, the never increasing bet amounts. And, I was trying to limit my loss if that was the case.  But as you said if I was a tad more aggressive, I guess I would of got my information, unless he had the balls to bluff when it's obvious I am holding something.

The Guy you need to speak to is Ironside I would have thought... I will alert him to this post.

Was he so drunk he was unable to walk so someone had plonked him down in a wheelchair ... cos thats how his  his usual nights out end up. Smiley

Yeah that's the one lol. Thanks.

Going by the username I'm not sure Iron's not creating another identity......

Actually, I was at a online poker site and I wasn't having a good day, and kinda went a bit nuts at someone calling preflop with 7,2... With the excuse.... But it's suited... and busting my aces. And, then another player piped up with "Okay Mr Mardy Bum, calm down" Anyway that made me chuckle so now I use that as an ID. Lol

Please forgive me, for I am bored at my desk, but here are 10 Poker Questions I would like answering:

1)   Why do you find dice in every poker chipset?
Some people use dice to find out who gets the DB first Wink

2)   Why do you find an ace on the flop every time you raise with Kings?
To give the A,10 os callers hope that they are good players.

3)   Why do people always put you on A-K regardless of everything?
Because that's what the want you to have?

4)   Why is telling the truth at the table frowned upon?
Because they expect you to lie.
5)   Why do people think bad beats are interesting?
Because they have a constant need to bitch and moan about something, anything.

6)   Why don't some players realise that rake is the real reason that they are only breaking even?
Does it matter? Even is Even? Still not  winning.
7)   Why is it so difficult to fold on the river?
Because you have the nuts!

Cool   Why do some people think poker is a sport?
Because it takes experience, and has an element of skill.

9)   Why do so many players not find online poker utterly tedious?
Perhaps they haven't played live yet?

10)   Why do the LAGs always have it when we finally make a stand?
Because they are the lucky players, that will soon go BUSTO. After winning one big pot and thinking they are a poker god.

Just one insightful and philosophical answer would ease my current boredom. Thankyou.

I'm bored so answered all 10.   Sue me.

Hi I spoke to you outside during the £20 tourney at Bowl 2000, but can't remember what you said your forum ID was. If you see this please PM me about what we spoke about.

Thanks,

Danny
