I'm just pointing out the facts of life for regulars in a small player pool card-room

"terrible post" is a bit OTT

At no stage would I make any discussion that would collude against any player, regular or not, but it IS a fact in the small comps that non EV/Poker considerations can come into play. I tried to outline a few reasons why that might happen

only for the regs thou! DUCY?

if i play once a month do I have to join the "club"?

The point I was making in saying it was a "terrible post" - is that whatever the clique wants, in "their card room", they shouldnt have any opporunity whatsoever so suggested/bully/cajole any player into doing something they dont want to

So Im sorry but to not deal isnt hard nosed at all

A reg in Glasgow I know doesn't do deals...n doesn't do savers....I respect this....nobody complains....he calmly says no,when it is brought up...says he never deals....n that's it....move on.......nobody argues....he doesn't involve himself in the ensuing debate

In small local comps, where the player pool is smallish to refuse a saver, especially if the only one to do so, is hard nosed I think
No problem if someone does, everyone has their own motivations

Also less hard nosed if you are there as a one off

but if you are regular, then I think the comment made earlier about non financial considerations/social aspects has merit.

tighty that is a terrible post!

that is the problem! You final table with 6/7 regs who are in a clique and expect to deal/saver

i once had a table where they were negotiating the deal for when  bust - which i pointed out  to the TD was collusion.

often times the "social players" are the problem, not people who dont want to do the saver

Agree 100%.

The clique aspect is one that makes live poker less enticing for others too.

This

Agree

Just don't go back....n tell the td on your departure exactly why....a certain club in Glasgow has teams going against you.....to ko the interloper.....

If what i've read so far is right, it sounds like some fking disgusting tournament directorship which is a surprise considering how well run most other stuff has been.

TD's insulting a player and calling a clock on them is fking disgraceful, when they have 'the right' (don't try and claim whether it's morally right etc, they cant stop him playing and he's paid rake) so he should get the same respect as other participants.

The fact that woman are a lesser class of thinker and need their own lower league tournament is fine, but if they cant legally do shit because of retarded rules in a retarded country then they should do their job and not act so out of line. Where are the mens only tournaments?

Cliffs n links....plz

its the only way to approach low level mtt's, with huge amoutn of pressure on bubble and around the final table.

My mind must have melted pleno...from the original question I was curious if apparently maniacal tendencies were +ev..cos that's what I'm seeing...

Can get you deep, but you'll struggle to win anything.

This is what I suspected...I know its all basic stuff....just having major confidence issues....obv bad beats galore.....getting deep would be nice....sorry guys...multiple 50p,s...
