Last time you started a season this well you only managed to win the title on goal-difference so best keep the pedal to the metal Wink

So the last time we started a season this well we went on to win the title?

Flat performance last night but still an enjoyable evening with lots of positives.

Sat next to some really friendly and knowledgeable Dutch guys. Made a change from some of the moaners who sit near us usually.

Won the group so can rest the key players before the United game.

KDB got his 3rd yellow card of the group stage and his 1 match ban for a game he wouldn’t have been playing in anyway and frees him up for the k/o stages. My lad was saying that his odds for the YC came down from about 8/1 to odds on.

Foden made his competitive debut and Diaz on for a couple of minutes as well.

My man Sterling scores a great winner. 11 goals now this season which equals his previous best for either Liverpool and City and we are still in November.

Extending the record for the most consecutive wins (all comps) in English football history.  17 now.

Happy days.

That Gundogan pass

Needs a love heart eyes emoticon.

Hmm, I'd be aggrieved if City were on the wrong end of that one. We said watching it that we'd  have  no complaints if it was a red..  but Stones in the mix means it isn't 100% so a very difficult call for the ref. Stones would have got on to Gareth Barry there but not a chance of getting to Vardy. Does that make it difference?! I have to say I don't know what the exact rule is.

Enjoyable game to watch.  And I'll use that word "tough" again - certainly until the late stages of the 1st half before City took control.

I watched the game at the Etihad - City put on a screening in one of the lounges. Hhy, you would have loved it - shaun goater was the "legend" in attendance with his daughters. Funny seeing him up on his feet singing tke KDB song Smiley

Ha, saw some footage of that on a City group on FB, looked class.

Remember collaring him outside Eastlands last season and shoving my arm in his face (I have 'feed the goat' tattooed on it), he probably thought I was a right little weirdo but happy to pose for pictures and said he'd follow me on Twitter....couldn't face breaking it to him that I'm not on there Sad

What a guy <3

Was at a gig last night so only just caught highlights this morning. Looked a pretty commanding display, and our big guns all seemed to have good games. Losing Stones is a blow, only offset by the return of Kompany, though for how long is anyones guess.

Regarding that decision, it was a close one. One of those where you'd be annoyed there was no red if you were the attacking team, but you'd argue a yellow was just about correct if you're the defending team. Think if Stones is 3 yards further away then its a red, very fine margins. We had one at Bournemouth in August but it was much more cut and dry, still can't believe Ake wasn't sent off Smiley

First time in over a year Leicester haven't registered a shot on target all game, think that's a testament to our defence as it looked like you gave us a solid, competitive game. Thankfully we are a little harder to break down than last season!

Surely the identity of the bloke inked on John Stones' thigh is worthy of some coverage on here? Who's got a book going? 😉

Probably his dad, but bears a resemblance to Motty, don't you think?

Whilst I'm not a true sky blue, I spent many a Saturday afternoon at Maine Road on the North Bank if I got home in time from my school game. One of my favourite terrace moments was when Tony Book got turned by a young buck winger, and a voice from behind me shouts "Grab him by the knackers, Tony!"

I think its Phil Jones, cos he looks up to him and aspires to get to his level.

Plus, who wouldn't want Phil Jones' mug plastered on them?

Thoughts on tomorrow? Picked up any injuries during the international break? Likely line up/formation?

I think this could be our toughest game so far, would've preferred to play you guys before the new manager came in. We're also missing Otamendi, and I don't think Kompany is match fit, so it could be a makeshift back 3/4/5 or however we line up.

It can't be worse than our showing there last season.......can it? Smiley

Fred has, amongst other City based bets, Sane for YPOTY, £20 at 16/1. Currently best price of 9/2 and 2nd fave behind Jesus.....the real Jesus, not the Greggs sausage roll. This will go the distance and probably be a photo finish.

Leeds is your best and closest option.

The relatively new Victoria Gate casino has a decent MTT schedule and cash games nightly. The Grosvenor over there is mostly just cash now, think they only have 2 comps a week neither of which are on a Friday.

If memory serves me right (and it should, cos I only played it a few weeks ago!), the Friday night comp at VG is a £30 F/O, couple of re-entries permitted, and guaranteed at £3.5k. Think their cash games start at the £1/£1 level, usually have a table of £2/5 on the go as well. I think similar cash game limits run at Grosvenor but I haven't been there for a while (and VG is taking all their business). Both casinos walkable from the station.

Trains run frequently until about 02.15 (though a little more limited after midnight), and a day return from York will set you back about £13.50. That is the only public transport option back. Expect to pay around £40 if you have to jump in a taxi. If you want the option to pull an all nighter then an open return is about £18 and trains resume again around 05.30 I think. Bear in mind that you have no chance of making the last train on Friday night if you go pretty deep in the VG tourney, unless you can get the remaining players to agree to a 25 person deal. (there are barriers, but there is a very good chance your train ticket won't be checked on the last train back by a conductor, so if you got an open return on the Friday it might/should see you through for Saturday too, then just buy a cheap advance single to get back to Leeds or jump on the Coastliner bus)

Most importantly, make sure you enjoy a Yorkshire pudding wrap when in York. Poker can wait, that can't.

Managed to get tickets for Sleeper next March.

<swoon> Louise Wener

Bah, I was considering seeing them in Leeds, and whilst I mulled it over it went and bloody sold out. Sale Of The Century is probs in my fave top 10 songs ever.

Got my hometown heroes Shed Seven at Fibbers in York next Saturday night (new album out today!), then see The Kooks before flying to Dublin to see Shed Seven again, supported by Cast. And then Shed Seven in Hull just before Christmas. I think my girlfriend thinks I'm crazy, but thankfully she likes them too Smiley

I've been playing a few bounty hunter tourneys lately. I often go deep but I don't take many scalps. Yesterday I finished 17th from 3300, and took exactly 0 bounties.

Do I need to change something?

You took me out of a BH on Sky the other day Smiley

What would you recommend?

Walker is 10x the player of Bellerin.

And Benjani is 10x the player of Lacazette.....(I saw Wink )

Think Bellerin would get in by a squeak and that's it

Excuse my ignorance, left or right back? We've been linked with him previously so I really should know....

Gonna assume LB, he can battle with Delph for the spot Smiley obv wouldn't get a look in when Mendy is fit.

A dreamland sequence of performances and results. In the league alone it is 19 games (half a season worth) since the defeat at Chelsea last season and made up of 16 wins and 3 draws with 61 goals scored and 12 conceded.

I thought it was a comfortable win yesterday whilst being below par (based on recent weeks) with the final ball and finishing. Looked a bit leggy with the exception of David Silva who physically was immense and no coincidence he only played 20 mins at Napoli.

I thought Arsenal flattered to deceive. I checked the xG (only to the start of last season) and it is the lowest Arsenal have had in an individual game since then. No wonder Arsene wanted a whinge. TBF Wenger had a point about the Silva offside goal but the Sterling penalty was a penalty IMO and the media seem to agree. However, his comments about Sterling are as low as you can get:

Is this a penalty?

We certainly looked a bit leggy yesterday, highlighted by our sometimes poor decisions/execution in the final 3rd, but even City at 75% were far too good for Arsenal. I'm not sure if the international break is a good or bad thing; I hope it doesn't interrupt our momentum but some of our players look like they need a breather from the PL.

Otamendi suspended for Leicester in 2 weeks so I wonder if Vinny will be drafted back in? I imagine if he's not fit then Pep might tinker with the formation rather than hand Mangala a start. Always an option of moving Fernandinho to centre half, or Danilo can fill in there too. We were mullered there last season with our tactics completely at odds with Leicester's obvious threat, I'm sure Pep learnt plenty from that and won't adopt a similar approach this time.

Wenger really looks a fool with his post match comments. It was a clear penalty. Yes, Silva was marginally offside but it was close, certainly a type of decision that will go for and against you numerous times over the course of a season. It wasn't as if Merlin was 5 yards off.

If I was an Arsenal fan (God forbid) I'd want to know why he starts Lacazette on the bench, and the bizarre tactical approach to the game. Futile to blame the officials when you're comprehensively beaten by a far superior team. And that's where Arsenal's problems are; not one of their players would get anywhere near our starting XI, and only maybe one or 2 would make the squad (Lacazette, Sanchez). They have a load of decent players but lack any world class talent. Things look very stale in their camp and it will continue that way until Wenger is moved on. I hope he gets another new contract Smiley
