I was there for just over a day in September helping lug a load of kit and got £40 a day per diems... Yes it's expensive as hell!

Checking in a day early this week as have an early start tomorrow. Pretty happy with how this went this considering I ate all food from restaurants this week due to being on location filming. Plus I went out for a big meal last night.

Tomorrow I'm flying to Iceland for work for three weeks. Doubt I will have scales there. No idea what I will be eating! Staying in some kind of apartment so should be able to "cook". Imagine I will let myself enjoy myself however. If I come back and have stayed at 129kg or below will be a good result

Makes perfect sense.

Limbo bars are low, rather like the IQ's of those who were unable to make the connection.

Don't you start! Poor Dakky hasn't been seen since Evilpie battered him with his friendly advice.

I lolled so much.

Lol. Not true though; I posted on Monday...

This week has been up and down as have been on location working. Half the week I was good and half the week not so good (Thursday was a particular lowpoint calorie wise as had probably 1k+ calories for lunch and 1.2ish k for dinner). Lunch we all ordered caribbean and I had large curry goat and rice. After a train to Dudley I went and had 4 thighs(550 cal) chips (450 cal) rainbow slaw (100cal) plus some sauce at Nandos with a colleague. Friday lunch I had a lot of Greggs :/

I'm back in Birmingham from tomorrow night until Friday so going to be tough.

One positive is that yesterday I almost gave up and ordered whatever the fk I wanted and got close to gorging on sugar but I stopped myself and ordered Pho for a few hundred calories. I think it was a "this week aint been amazing, why am I even doing this, might as well let go" but something in me stopped myself. I did have two 93cal Fibre One slice things but think I was at 1800cal in the end for yesterday.

It's not like all the week was "bad" just half of it not great. Don't think I went over 2.5k cal on the two "bad" days so can't have been a disaster. Def easy to mug it off though!

We've got those exact same ones, they've been good as gold.

I also have these; they must have sold millions!

Moving weigh in to Mondays

04/01/22   130              2.1                   2.1

I didn't go over 2k calories ever this week

I caved on no deliveries- ordered twice (hard to cook when grinding) but one was a naked burrito 700cal. Found myself leaving out the sour cream. And discovered the bag of tortilla and guac I normally ordered (from Tortilla) was like another 700cal. Pretty mad. Other one was also around 800cal.

Ate out once with people at a Turkish. Impossible to tell the calories but had grilled fish with rice and veg.

Ate pure sugar only twice - one ice cream I had left in the freezer; 250cal and half a baclava and teaspoon of icecream at the restaurant - probably 200-250cal. This is honestly massive for me where I was easily waxing off 1k cal a day in pure shite; probably where loads of my gain in past 3 years has been from.

Have found 2k cal more food this week. Think I will go down to 1800 daily target soon (my BMR/TDEE is allegedly around 2350). Still have plenty of periods of hunger.

Have discovered tinned soups are pretty good for 130-210cal a tin. Decent and easy.

I just polished off;
small baked potato - 150cal
5 grilled chicken chipolatas - 190cal
Bisto gravy - 60cal
Brocolli, Cauliflower, Beans - Didn't weigh guessing around 100cal

Pretty decent dinner for 500ish cal though if I make it again I would have more potato as still a bit peckish

This week I'm on location filming during the days so having food not from home. Went for health and happiness from Itsu 544cal plus miso 36 cal. Breakfast was 3 eggs plain. I also had a 83 calorie bar from "fiber one" which has some sugar in. And an apple. So today I'm at around 1500cal.

I can't believe no one has mentioned cod loins.

I watched that video Evil linked about "eat as much of these as you like" and the two takeaways for me were  that mushrooms (which I like but have only just bought some yesterday since starting this 10 days agoi) have
a good amount of protein in and I need to eat more white fish

Fruit doesn't really fill me up plus I avoid it due to the amount of sugar...

Have you been reading some of those dumbass keto books?

At what point in history did the sugar in fruit become a problem? People will happily drink a can of coke but won't go near a banana because it's full of sugar.

Ffs if you don't like fruit don't eat it but don't avoid it because of the sugar.

No I haven't read any dumbass books. I'm just really physically addicted to sugar so been trying to cut it out including trying to minimise carbs also...

cheers

Well the mince was definitely just over 300cal (from the packet, and google telling me it's 137cal per 100g). Ok maybe a little more than a tablespoon of oil but still.

FWIW I had 2eggs around 11.30am and one at 4pm before I went out

Yes I took the calories of the chickpeas off the can (I'm aware they aren't a great food - I never ate them last time I did something like this but I'm looking for/trying new things that might be filling and reasonable calories). It was around 350 plus a LITTLE oil. Nothing else (ok some garlic)

If you think eggs are a bad "snack" aside from strawberries what would you suggest as "better"? Smiley

I didn't add oil, of course. That was what it was cooked in.

I've actually just been shopping and bought some spray rapeseed.

I know that there are more calories in yolks, but it's also where the majority of taste and the nutrients are... Also I was reasonably good to go until dinner after having those chickpeas then 2 eggs and 1 more a bit later so for 225 cal {i make it around 75 per egg) that's pretty good.

I'll definitely have a look at that YouTube channel/s thanks. Seen some "anabolic" recipes on reddit when I was perusing earlier. Cheers!

Well have done a week now and lost 2kg trying to stick to 2000cal a day. Was asleep all NYD so didn't eat at all really Tongue

Went over one day with two big bowls of cereal which was super lazy but delicious. Think I ate 2500 that day. The only other sugary foods I've eaten in a week are 3 nutty-chocolatey type bars 135kcal each and one magnum ice cream around 250. Pretty happy with that side of things as i could easily eat 1k cal of sugary shit in a day before for the past couple of years.

Am aiming for 0 deliveries until the end of the month. The only thing I had delivered was a peri peri chicken wrap when my housemate ordered chicken... Not that bad guessing 400-500 cal but not that worth it.

When it comes to real food definitely need to branch out. I've found myself this time not avoiding certain carbs as much; I haven't had any bread, pasta or rice but I have had things like lentils and chickpeas. I'm pretty sure these are "better" carbs than you find in the former... I think I will probably add in some potatoes either baked or boiled for satiety. I will likely have rice somtimes going forwards.

Definitely need to find some more things to eat though. Some examples of what I've been eating:

A good filling meal for 500cal had fried onion/garlic/5%fat mince (half a packet -300 cal)/1tbsp oil then added tinned tomatoes and ate with a shit load of veg. This was a lot of food physically!

Have had a couple of 300cal pre-prepared lentils u stick in microwave either on their own or with tuna.

Have had chicken breast, marinated and then roasted with veg.

Had a ready meal which was 350cal plus some petit pois.

A lot of these meals are a LOT less food than I was eating so it's been tough, hence looking to eat some potato potentially as it's very filling.

Today at 10.30 I fried some garlic and a tin of chickpeas, added seasoning and chili powder and smoked paprika. Around 400cal. I was still hungry. Had two boiled eggs and much better though was still panging for a while. I plan to eat a lot of eggs as they helped me last time a lot!

The 2kg figure means nothing as at the beginnign there's lots of changes in water weight, so I expect the first few weeks weight to mostly drop off before it starts to get tougher. The question is can I make and eat foods I like enough sustainably? To some people 2000 calories sounds like a lot but when you're a human vacuum cleaner it's not always that much. Have to watch things like oils, sauces etc as this is where things can add up quickly!

I am 6'3" and currently weigh 132kg and not happy at all. I want to lose 40kg. I'm currently totally addicted to sugar I know I just need to stop that. I also, over the past few years have increased my use of delivery food to it being beyond a joke. I order so much food it's crazy. I am a couch potato, lazy as hell. I do work sometimes, not at home. I haven't ever really got the "buzz" from exercising.

I have to buy most clothes online as I don't fit into what they have in shops. I think this has been a strong reality check of where I am and where I want to be.

The last time I went about losing weight I put the mindset of avoiding carbs. I was eating lots of meat/fish and veg and let myself be hungry. I was working a job that with the journey and some extra effort I was generally doing 10,000 steps a day.

It was working. I can't find the figures but I feel like I lost 15kg. I was still not close to a healthy weight (but much better than I am now.) This was over a 3 month period. I think what the demise of that period was I was counting calories and started eating things that kept me within my 1800 a day (or whatever I was aiming for) but started the sugar again, perhaps a small packet of sweets or a chocolate, or a frozen pizza "hey its only 900 calories I can eat less _________"

These small packets increased in size and the frequency of carb foods also, and at some point I was off the wagon.

I need to start again. I don't know where to. I'm depressed in general and eating rubbish is comforting. I don't like feeling hungry. Carbs are quick, easy, cheap, filling. I like carbs.

It all feels so daunting to give up the food I have become accustomed to ordering via an app and having it within 30 minutes; turkish, greek, indian, pizza, mcdonalds... The list goes on. I know the amount of money I spend is also crazy but I don't think about it.

I got slightly detracted somehow.  Funnily enough on the same newscast...

it's quite good to see him go out looking like an even big loser, if that were possible.

It would be nice but it's how he would prefer it as well.

I assume it is settled on 2020 results ie 48/50.  That will explain the prices anyway.  As this run off took place in 2021, it doesn't count.   Betfair have made a right horlicks of these markets, so who knows?

"It says Where a runoff is required to determine who wins Senate seats we will wait for the result of the runoff before settling the market on the final Senate seat numbers once all results are in ***Updated 07/11/2020***"#

FINAL senate seat numbers. I dunno. Final number can't be 98 right?

I'd backed Trump, but redded out on BF after that last night, lol.

Me too; more for a bit of fun than anything but I booked the red market as well

So, totally randomly, my sister-in-law has asked what I know about crypto.

I said a bit...

She has no connection to poker apart from me. My brother doesn't even know the rules! I know this has no bearing on anything but it's very interesting that she is getting interested in it as she is HIGHLY educated and intelligent...

I remembered this thread.

Long story short... Any word of interesting coins to follow/buy atm?

I said there are some "safe" bets, they all seem to track (to a degree) BTC.... Is this true?

I have some interest in XRP (ripple) and also XMR (monero)...

I haven't spent too much time thinking about it but may do going forwards...

Does anyone have any thoughts about good coins to put a little research into ?

Thanking you kindly peoples Smiley
