I know Rich (DIK9) is a blonde member and still posts now and again. Would just like to wish him and his staff all the best for the future and thank them for running a very enjoyable card room to play in. Great craic and a good bunch of reg players. Big shame but the decision was taken at board level across the estate so beyond his team's control.
absolutely, great bloke, hope all works out for him

Thinking about going for a few days later in the year on the back of a Cali road trip. What’s up with prices on the strip now they seem to have gone insane? I’ve probably not been for 4 or 5 years but I’m pretty sure I always got something for not more than $100 a night, doesn’t seem to be much for $150 plus the stupid resort fees by the looks of it, is that the norm now? Even places in San Francisco are selling crappy rooms for $200+ Depends where you want to stay Woodsey? There should be plenty of rooms $100 or under unless your looking at the top end hotels or just a weekend stay. Usually stay at the flamingo or that one next door, what’s it’s name now the D or something? Anyway this time I’ll have the sprog in tow so was looking at the excalibur. Any other thoughts for kid friendly hotels? Circus Circus is too far from everything so not staying there. It’s a bit of a shocker everywhere for hotel prices in California as well, hardly anything you’d want to stay at for less than $200 a night Try south point ? There’s normally some kind of horse show ,majorettes , Mac tools conference Bowling alley Cinema - multiscreen Great pool area Food n drink is much cheaper than on the strip 12-14 different eating places on site ,all v good Use Uber if you want to go to the strip Michaels is pretty pricey but quite an experience

I've done VA upper (and am using again in a few weeks)
The ground experience is superb but the in air not so good
The bed curves and is narrow and the bar is very poor
Not flown BA business to compare but it falls well short of the likes of Emirates
Economy there is little between them, Premium VA seats are quite a bit wider though you lose some of this to the excessively wide armrest

the last leg back to Dublin is usually easily avoidable
"usually"? I'd be mortified after an all night 10 hour flight from Vegas got to Gatters & then I had to fly to Dublin & back again. Does the luggage definitely get released to the passengers who are booked though to Dublin? Book your main flight into LGW and your connection from LHR is safest method
