Cheers Rotty.
We have just talked to someone who worked at an airport for aer lingus and they advised that as long as we tell them at Vegas on the return that we want the bags back in Gatwick we should get them.
there is a thread on V-flyer where folks have had issues doing this recently but I think they were on BA flights, most have still been ok though

Looking at booking flights via Dublin wondering if anyone has any experience of this. Couple of questions; - Do your bags get checked in straight through to Vegas? The connecting flights out still have an overnight in Gatwick.
- On the return flight is it possible to avoid the Dublin flight and just get on another flight home instead?
not 100% sure re the first question but I think they will go straight through re the return you used to be able to only check bags to LHR/LGW and avoid last flight but sometimes they are being funny about that recently (BA more so than VA) the way to make sure you are ok with this is to fly into one of LHR/LGW and make the connection re the other then you will have to collect your bags so will be ok Some say that by connecting overnight on your return you can get bags collected in London by saying you need them for the overnight stay

just a thought re the earlier starts, Mon-Thurs are mainly locals games but Friday folks come from further afield (or at least it appears that way, I may be wrong) the traffic is usually bad and they don't have the pressure of having to finish early to be at work in the morning

I can see most of the entrants being the penny roll players who've already got in from a hugely overlaid comp and they won't want to spend £10 on a rebuy particularly towards the latter levels. With the structure as it is they'll struggle to reach the triple addon so I can see a lot just having the one 1p bullet.
that's exactly what happened to me tonight, penny roll into £11 sat and was a fight to make the add on, did manage it though but was hard work to make it a good value proposition worth it in end though
