Green Joker Poker Main Event

Hi all,
Just like to mention that Tom at
www.antesup.com
will be runnning a live update thread tonight from 8pm for this event that Djinn, Actionman, Pab, The Colonel (Booder) and myself will all be playing in. There will be roughly 150-200 runners and it's a 3-day event with tomorrow starting at 4pm and the final day beginning at 2pm on Sunday. They've put a lot of work into this festival and it's got an awesome structure, so I'm sure they'd appreciate any extra support on their forum.

The very last hand of the night goes to Dewi James, who finds ACES and talks Raymond O’Mahoney into calling his all-in preflop bet of 15k. “If I had AQ, I’d call!” says Dewi. Raymond calls holding pocket 66’s.

What a fabulous tournament this was - I can't rate the structure or organisation more highly. And the hotel's nice and warm.
I wasn't terribly unlucky, to tell the truth - after a shortish start to the day, I just raised fairly often and that was nice, before raising one one more time with 44, spiking a set and betting out lots - got the desired raise and a decent stack. Which I proceeded to do away with in two tasty chunks, once re-raising someone preflop with AK and finding them with AA (they'd just moved to the table and to be honest I had no idea what was going on - foolish, hasty me) and then losing a crucial race(?) with AK against A10 which hit a ten. They deserved it though; I had my share of fortune and have no cause to complain and would play this again if it started in ten minutes.
Despite not quite making 200 runners, I have no doubt that when Mike Lacey does this again (which will happen in 2007) it will attract hordes. And not one will whinge about the structure.
Oh, and sorry Snoops and Dana. I'm going to eat pizza with BA now.

nice of Mike to take the time to give you a massage when presumably he was so busy with the tournament
