I wish the Supergrass bass player a good recovery - not a nice experience.
I used to sleepwalk a great deal in my childhood/youth to the point where the family were concerned, when we went on holiday, that our room was "safe" in this respect and I did have to turn down renting a particular first floor flat, in between house purchases, because the only bedroom was very small and the bed had to be close up to a full-length window... not a good idea!
I also occassionally threw myself out of bed during horrific nightmares....weird! One time it was most embarassing as I gave myself a shiner of a black eye which was not a good idea when we were going to interview some big cheese at Anglo American Headquarters...oh well! On another occassion I just missed landing on a glass on the floor... the thought still brings tears to my eyes!
My son also experienced sleepwalking and, like you, Tighty, the best advice was just to keep an eye that all was well and safe for him and only wake him if there could be a potential problem. Most times he was totally unaware!
Sleepwalking, obvious sign of madness >:?
