Odds are just over 1000 - 1 I checked as I did the same thing in a tourament once before. Same situation only difference was I had Tens instead of Jacks.

Given that 7 cards are known, i.e. the two sets of hole cards and the 3 flop cards, the odds are:
2/45 * 1/44 = 0.001010101
This is 989/1 as RoyalFlush says.

Given the math...
22/4 - 4/11 + 1/2 * 11 = 44
44e where e = mc2 x 52 = 989/1
So flushy is right.

Did he have a back door flush as well?
That would make it more like 984/1.

I'm getting just the slightest sense that you guys aren't really keen on the maths aspect of the game - or perhaps, just like to take the rip out of pedants like myself. However, the odds of hitting the backdoor flush would have been 21/1. Reminds me of a time where three of us flopped a set - I had the middle set. All the money went in on the flop and I hit the backdoor flush. Hardly a bad beat at all really - I don't know why the other guy cried.

on a single suit flop it could be as short as 5/2
