They are a good young side and I just hope (providing they actually stay in business) that they manage to keep most of the players.

I watched them at Reading in November and they played really nice passing football, they lost their heads a bit when they let in a goal but that is just an experience thing, overall they were the much better side.

Stockport now aswell, notice how they waited until 2 days after safety has been confirmed (if you took 10 off now), take it off next season imo...

I'm pretty sure the League are wise to that scam now, after (I think) Leicester did it.

Hence Southampton's "ten points off next season if you're down anyway" punishment.

hmm, complete joke really, methinks the league really need to look into the penalty for going into admin. for the exact same offence southampton are royally screwed for next season while stockport get effectively nothing

The punishment would be the same for both clubs.  The consequences of that punishment are obviously compeletely different.

Perhaps the way to do it is administration=automatic relegation.

But you would still need to punish a club that was going to be relegated anyway should they go into administration, otherwise the loophole is still there.  A ten point deduction for the next season effectively makes it very difficult for the club to get promoted straight back.  Considering the financial situation of these clubs, is that such a bad thing ?     I mean, a chance to get the club on a stable foothold and ensure it is managed within their means.

The Luton situation was the real sickener.  I think most Luton fans would have rather had the instant relegation rather than to have gone through this season and at least they would have had a chance to have got back this year, but instead they are punished for a greater length of time.  And it's the players and fans that suffer really.

Well the options to Leeds were grim -15 was the best option. They offered to relegate us, push us into non league or accept the points deduction.
