grrrr, writing a piece for Bluff about the Cheong/Duhamel hand n would like to see it first....what did u make of it, Cheong close to being everybody's new fave player if it comes off?
You saw both of their interviews about the hand? Can get you links if you haven't both of them explain thought processes in the hand and about some previous hands (that wont be on the footage) that helped create the dynamic. Also there was a shortish stack (Racener) so ICM wise its a tougher call with Queens. Racener describes the shove as ridiculous and the call as questionable.
Personally I think Duhame never has a hand like 77-1010 or a8-aq, he is never going to 5bet to induce a 6bet and get it in with the shorter stack and huge stacks as he knows Cheong is super aggro and could get it in with two overs and obv doesnt want to flip, Cheong knows this so knows his 5bet range is most likely polarised between qq+ and AK (maybe) and spewy air. If you rewind a few orbits prebviously, Duhamel had flatted a Mizrachi raise BVB with Aces and got it in v q8 on qxx flop, so he could maybe even think he would flat the 4bet and get it in on the flop as most of Cheongs range was air as he was flatting alotttttttttttttttttttt of 3bets, even OOP.
Basically, I like the shove and would have done it myself.
