do you think you can buy a top dog with chances to hit the top levels at an older age?

Some good advice given itt!

Dubai I know has owned a good quality dog before and I had a few at one time but mainly graders, I think if we see how many peeps are interested first then can put the finer details in place and go from there.

Im just dubious about dogs that get sold at 12months, makes financial sense for any good rearer to keep them for extra few months, trial them and charge double. Which is why i worry when dogs are sold for middlish sums (3-6k) at 12 months

Plus the wait for them to get to track seems so long in my experience

Put me down for a £200, maybe be in for a £500 nearer the off time.

This is a good point Dubai and obviously there are alot of cowboys who have the schooled the cr@p out of a pup from say 10 months and then pretended they have only been out of the boxes a few times at 12 months and get the buyer fooled. These people exsist everywhere i guess.

There are some top class irish breeders who basically just rear pups and sell them at sapling age. Dessie Loughrey and the Dunphys to name a couple.

If you's have the right contact and wanted a good young dog for now, i'm sure with 10k you's could pick up something very good.

For sure, we got a good one for 6k at 12 months, but have had the other end of the stick and had an average one at similar age for same price, and had no luck with pups with good breeding for decent money at young age, 1 didnt make racetrack for example and 2 litter brothers were dqd for fighting! Funny old game.

Just want one with early pace- makes gambling so much easier
