Paul Daniels has died at the age of 77

wasn't a huge fan, but it got me thinking that the passing of him represented another loss from a different era

Daniels i think was on opportunity knocks and was a HUGE saturday night star on bbc1 when i was younger

its a bit different these days, no variety shows, not a lot of traditional magic on tv either

who can forget also Mrs Mertons comment to Debbie McGhee which installed him further into national folklore

Many fond memories round at my grandma's house watching Paul Daniels on Saturday night TV. RIP.

Understand that his image took a few knocks more recently, but a very entertaining man when he was in his prime.

When I was a kid he WAS Saturday night.....him and Brucey ruled the roost, enjoyed watching him a lot.

And fair play to him and his wife, despite the snidey comments they got from time to time, they stuck together.
