The only thing that is broken on mine is my mozilla start page:
http://en-gb.start.mozilla.com/firefox?client=firefox-a&rls=org.mozilla:en-GB:official
Sark, just ignore it and use your bookmark. Basically it means the google page is being inundated with hits and cannot respond to your request to load the page in time. Firefox isn't broken, its working as intended.
I will try and ignore it. However I need order and tidiness. It kills me that the icon sits there and does nothing. I prefer every icon to do something. Like when you had your phone mikky, it was such a temptation to click the phone icon . In Flash Gordon the movie, would you put your hand in the tree stump on Prince Baron's swamp planet? I would because it is there to be done ( even if there is a big stinging thing in there ) My FireFox is there to be clicked... now I can't

You can click it and then just go on to where you want to.

I'm not anti-microsoft, I think a lot of their products are good and of course you can't beat them for compatibility between programmes. But ultimately the way they make them good is usually by copying other peoples better work - IE7 uses a lot of mozilla and firefox ideas to become good software - I'd rather use the original and I'd rather use the ones that virus writers and their ilk aren't going to target because they
are
anti-microsoft.

No, they just target IE as it has the biggest market share.

The point still stands, if IE is being targeted - it's safer staying away from it.

In the same way that Harrahs running of the WSOP can be considered as good, then I agree.

Although at first glance there might be similarities, I think there is a big difference.
When Microsoft do something which makes them look like a git it's generally a ruthless commercial business decision (eg withdrawing support for Windows 98, don't worry about the millions of people in the world who are still using it)
When Harrah's do the same (eg re use old cards for the HORSE and other tournaments rather than use new ones), its generally either a bad business decision or incompetence.
