This came from a three handed home game. Player A is weak, player B maybe has a slight edge over player C heads up.

Player A - 790 chips
Player B - 1220 chips
Player C - 990 chips

Blinds 20/40

Player A (dealer) folds.
Player B calls
Player C raises to 100.
Player B re-raises to 300.
Player C re-raises all in.

There are now 1290 chips in the middle.

It would cost player B 690 chips to call. He'd get a little under 1.9-1 on his money.

Player B holds K7 suited. He has a decent read on player C and puts him on an ace and any kicker above 5.

If you were player B would you call?

Help settle an argument!

IMO a no-brainer - fold.

Depending on the kicker it's a marginal call based on odds alone (just under 2 to 1 if kicker is 8 or above).
But the inference from your post is that player B has an edge over the other two, and the blinds mean there is still some play left in the game.
Fold probably gives a greater positive expectation than a call.

Having said that, I don't think you can be too critical of a call.

I guess it would completely depend on payout, is it a winner takes all thingymebob?

I don't like the range he's put him on, Coming over the top of a meaty re-raise for all his chips, I doubt he has A6o, A7o etc. (Then again, I don't know the guy, so he may be right)
Sounds like a case of putting your opponent on some cards that let you call though, the betting suggests a far stronger holding (like AK or similar pretty cards)

you dont go over the top of a raise and with Ax   player c holding AK makes player B a 3/1 dog - fold

The very last hand of the night goes to Dewi James, who finds ACES and talks Raymond O’Mahoney into calling his all-in preflop bet of 15k.  “If I had AQ, I’d call!” says Dewi.  Raymond calls holding pocket 66’s.

Don't forget that pot odds don't include the con of actually being eliminted from the comp. With 600+ you're still in with a good shout, especially if you consider yourself to be considerably more skillful than your opponents.

It's a marginal decision in my eyes.

If you've managed to get 25 big blinds in the pot with K7 sooted, how much edge can you have against this field?
