8 At the table. blinds 800/1600 I am first to act and call the big blind with    everyone else folds and big blind checks.

flop    two hearts

So i have str8 flush draw, I move all in.

Big blind person um and ahhhhh's and calls with  Two Clubs.

I had 8k left and he had 7k.

I didnt improve, at the time I thought this was the right move, but not sure now. Any advice.

UTG i'd pass nine high.

Fair enough you have the blinds to face the next two hands but chances are you will receive better than 9 high on either of those two occasions and even if you dont have anything you can push with then you still have more than 7000 chips left to make a move at some point during the next round. i reckon this is still enough chips to force people to pass at only 800/1600 so i'd hang on for a better spot.

soooted though...and connected...*Puts on Oliver twist voice) "They'd be lovely sir...really they would."

If you find an Ace, or KJ and push and get a caller he is more likely to call with another ace or KJ or some hand like that. With sooted connectors (yes with an O at the end...I am going for the posh spelling) you have outs if you get 1 (or hopefully 2) callers. 89 sooted is not as bad a hand in this spot as some other hands would be.

yes i understand that if you are going to attempt a steal then you are better doing it with a hand like this as it offers you more ways to win the pot - as i eluded to in another post from a while back:

http://blondepoker.com/forum/index.php?topic=5417.0

But on this occasion i dont like the raise UTG as you still have to force 7 players to lay down their hands and unless i know that my table image is incredibly "rock-like" then i'd rather wait until i have better position to be putting my tournament life on the line raising with 9 high out of position.

position schmosition...they are spades!!! (you are right of course..but I love sooted connectors especially spades..they is pretty)

I'm becoming a fan of 'pump em or dump em' especially preflop.  OK tisn't the greatest hand in the world but one but you're letting all sorts of muck get involved in the pot (i.e. two pairs with J2)  Even a small raise will get rid of this rubbish although with the levels that you are on, I'd have either pushed or folded.

I'm a bit pot calling kettle black as I do this myself still when I have a moment, and I always kick myself for it when I let someone in cheap with a rubbish hand.

Pushing UTG here is my move.

You have to get past a few players but the extra FE you get from being UTG is plenty to cover that, the first few players are not calling you with AJ etc

lol. I didnt feel under pressure with my stack, I just wanted to gamble I guess. But I can see how 1600 with my stack and just calling was incrorrect.

It was fun night anyway, two hands on bounce I ended up all in with aq aj both times vs kk and survived.. God I love live games, the nun was at my table for 2hrs Smiley

yeah i thought it was a good move acid, thought you would have probably raised it with them as u had been playing pretty tight aggressive, taking down pots etc all night
and he wouldnt have called with J2 no.

I went out with 18 left, i made it 5k with KK mid position, flop came 9 J Q i shipped my last 7k in, and someone called for all his chips with A9, hitting an A on the turn, was not happy. wasnt sure whether i should hav shipped it all in Pre flop tho, what u think?

u making a visit tues or wed nite mate??
