Re Finance... I'm involved (in a small way) in a very large football (Celtic) forum & it does cost....

There, to cover the costs, people can purchase 'Super-membership' for £20 a time & are allowed to edit posts, post polls, attach signatures & avatars.... all of which are freely available here. The Super-member concept really annoys some though.

That forum has a few thousand members & has had offers of money for banners/advertising etc, but since we fund it (and a lot of charity fundraising) out of our own pockets we resisted anything that might affect the independance of the forum. But that is for people who support a team.

Blonde is something different - it's an unselfish, helpful forum for a game where being selfish & taking all you can off the other guy is the main aim in the end, this is amazing to me. Since all users will play online at some point anyway, I see nothing wrong with afilliate links & sponsored tourneys - as long as they are explained first, that help fund a valuable resource to us players (small time like me, or the professionals).

There is a chance that their involvement in this site will help Tikay or El Blondie with sponsorship or employment chances in the future.... but I think it's their abilities that will tell more. If having the 'ear' of 1500/2000 whatever Blondeites clinches a deal for either of the  guys, then good - we've helped one of our own, it'd be small recompense for the work they've put in to provide the forum what we've got.

Moderators - thankless task generally (I'm a  moderator on 2 different fora - including a German one  Undecided) - but needed, so thanks.

PS Blue's a horrible colour - any chance of making the stars green? Or even better - green shamrocks   Wink Grin

Tikay - Cardroom manager
Moderators- Cardroom Supervisors (keep the blue stars BTW you have earned them
Hero members- The dealers
The rest of us are punters
Some good some bad, the bad ones get barred the rest are treated with respect and are listened to regardless of opinions, doesn't mean anythings gonna change but listened too none the less. Some good points are taken further.

We ALL love poker and thats our common denominator

Similarities between Forum and a Cardroom
(I am proud of my cardroom and Tikay proud of his forum)

Do go, i went Monday for (i think) the 4th time, very very nice.
Actually a very slow structure (don't remember it but i seemed slow......Richard??), i did quite well again though self destructed for no reason at all Huh?
Strange, i got loads of abuse off my pal/driver on the way home, i realised the next day it was pure fatigue though (note to self.........sleep you moron!)
Anyway £180 for 8th!!! the most elsewhere for 8th is around your buyin back, so a good payout structure.
Excellent dealers/service, i would moan about the price of alcohol but i've had 2 free meals in the resaurant (excellent BTW) this week!!
