The prioirty is obviously getting your cash back and a possible conviction not much more than a consolation.

If his parents have some cash then they will probably bail him out but thats their problem not yours. I would turn up on their doorstep, or wite to them and explain the situation asking if they will asssit him to settle the debt before the police are called. They may tell you to bugger off but got to be worth a try/

If it all goes pear shaped though and the police wont even do anything, there is no question i would arrange my own justice !!!

Remember, if you write or contact the police then you won't be able to knock him in or smash his windows, etc... I'd corner him 1-on-1 and threaten him with some really f*cked up sh*t. If his opinion of you is a respectable stand-up guy that can be mucked about then that would really put the sh*tter up him and you'd defo get your money back.
