Someone is going to die
«

December 02, 2007, 12:12:22 PM »
So after winning the $10rb last night i jumped in a taxi and headed off to a party at my mates house. A few hours later and the party was going nowhere so i got my mates lappy down and fired up the $100rb on stars. Another guy was watching me who ive known for years, I wouldnt class him as a good mate but a mate all the same. I got Ko'd out of the tournament exited stars and went home to bed.
When i woke up this morning my account was on $0.02 my 1st impression was that id been hacked, however looking back in hindsight that would have been the best possible outcome. I got my last 100 hands on hand history emailed to see wtf had gone on.
After the $100rb there was a $5.00 sng played and lost then a jump 8 minutes later to $25/50 lol. What was strange was that the villain was not dumping cash at all and was trying to win. Then one thing crossed my mind. My mate. He is 31 and has been convicted for fraud after he got a credit card maxed which he took out on his brothers name. He has owed me £150 for 5 months and before the party i was finished with him. The party host though is still friends with him and invited him to the party.
As soon as this thought crossed my mind i rung up the house and spoke to the villain. He admitted playing a $5 sng. And on my hand histories 8 minutes later he started playing $25/50 and then $10/20 when he lsot on $25/50 he was probably trying to make me some money on the account as he is perenially bust. hoping id spot him the profit in cash.
This guy is a total degenerate, who hasnt had a job for years and used to dress in a suit pretending to have a job, while spending afternoons in the bookies.
I feel so fkin stupid for not unclicking remember password, but have no recollection of me clicking it int he 1st place.
he rung back a few minutes ago and said that what must have happened was that he thought he was playing a sng LMAO, this proves his guilt and i immedieately said i was ringing the police. With his previous form this would mean a jail sentance if prosecuted. I know deep down that this is highly unlikely, as basically by me leaving the log in details on, grants him access???
I used the police too get him scared and he immediately said he would sort it. Curious on how a degenerate busto would sort out £3.5k english he said his mum would have to sort it. She has bailed him out many a time. He also said if i told anyone about this he would deny it to the police lol. I might just go down and find him now and kick the living shit out of him. But i doubt whether this will get my money back. This guy has a habbit of disappearing off the face of the earth when he owes £100. Nevermind £3.5k.
Ive told him that if i dont get comfirmation my his mother that a check will be written out in my name by theis afternoon i am ringing the police up. Does anybody know if they will be able to do anything?
What would everybody else do in this situation? im on the verge of murder

Sorry to hear that fella.
Not sure where you stand, but I suspect that the T&Cs of the poker room will say that it's your duty to keep your account secure.
I'm sure you feel like beating the crap out of him, but that won't help you get your money back. He's effectively stolen the money from you, but not sure what the police can do. I'd speak to someone who knows the law and get advice. I'd also speak to his mum and tell her that he's stolen £3.5K from you and unless you get it back, he's going to be in severe trouble. Maybe that'll work?
Hope you get it sorted.

For the police to do anything you'd have to report the incident as theft and get him charged. However, that charge would be a bit messy to say the least. Your Pokerstars account is not a bank account and is probably not covered by banking regulations. Fraud could be a potential charge (in that he is pretending to be you) but again, it's not clear cut.
Playing devil's advocate here, if I was him I'd just say that you let me play on the account. I don't think there is any independent evidence which you have which proves otherwise. I don't think the police are going to be that interested as it's not cut and dry.
I think you can only threaten police/violence and hope that works - you are essentially bluffing (certainly with the police and actually hitting him won't get your money back).
Do what you can but be prepared to just chalk it up as a bad beat and move on. And be more careful with your logins.

I cant see it will hurt to make the police aware of it. At least they will tell you where you stand.

the chalk is in the right hand, but unfortunately there is a shotgun in the other lol. He has just seen my mate and admitted this to him. He has said his mum is going to write out a check of £3.5k to me and that he will pay back £200 per month. This would be a brilliant result. Once/if i get my money i will never speak/see this character again. If i dont get the money he is geting his kneecaps blown off and once the community knows, he will have any ounce of credability he has left taken away.
Oh and he tried to log into my mates BSQ and dtd account aswell.

Its going to be down to you for leaving your account accessible i reckon? I'm not trying to be funny but tell his mum? The guy's 31 not 16. Could you not have sorted it by telling him to get you the cash without going to the police? I feel sorry for his poor mother. Her son might not have any personal boundaries and IMO, she should be left out of it. Poor woman!!!!!!! I know you feel like killing the guy but that wont solve anything. If one thing comes out of this, it should be that you and a few more of us here wont leave our accounts accessible to others in the future. Maybe you'll get your money back and maybe you wont? If the guy finds out you dont have a leg to stand on, he could walk away and shrug his shoulders. What I dont like is that the poor womans christmas savings could be going down the drain because of her pratt of a son!!
good luck with it and dont get caught trying to convince him either......lol

His parents are quite wealthy but that is not the point. I too feel for her 100% thats why i have not made the decision to ring her up yet. Dunno if i will. Im waiting on news that a check will be written in my name by this afternoon. This is possibly one of the biggest bluffs i have made this year and it needs to get through.

It's bad for his Mum. It would be infinitely preferable for this low-life to stump-up himself. But sooner his Mum bear the loss than Action Man surely? She is to some extent responsible for her son's moral code after all.

I disagree. He's 31 and responsible for his own morals but if its the only way he's going to see his cash then so be it....... Action man should deffo not bear the cost as he's the victim in this.
