Don't make me mad

OK, here's the deal...someone has given you $60 on a stake basis..you're playing PLO and have decided to play 0.25-0.50, sit down with 20$ at every table as to not stick the whole roll on one table.

Here's a couple of hands..the fact that they all ended up with me missing is of course a pain in the arse but not the point..the point is, did the hand play out OK and is the reasoning behind the actions sound? Rather than just play the game I really want to think more about why I do things and what I really should be doing.

First hand

Pre-flop limp was a misclick...once the flop hits and I have 2 people check to me I lead out. When the German raises into me I have 2 choices, either flatcall here…and give away that I’m on a draw and kill any action that happens if the diamond comes or push representing a set and having the flush draw if he calls. I stick them in and was rather surprised that he turned over top 2 with no draws but his hand held up.

Second one

Call pre with a decent hand, when he leads out the flop I put him on Aces so represent the ten..as soon as he pushes I know he has aces and maybe flush redraw that is unlikely to have the ace… I am happy to call with my flush draw given what's in the pot and what I have back.…again the draw misses.

Hand 1 - Unless you're hoping he's going to fold you're not really getting the odds. You know you're behind and need your flush and you're getting nowhere near 3 to 1. Might be better to flat it ($3.50 in to an $8.50 pot) and hope it slows him down enough to give you a free river as well. (But I'd probably have done the same as you tbh)

Hand 2 - You could be facing trips with plenty of fh possibilities or a better flush draw. Bit tricky. Once you've raised and he's pushed you've no choice but to call but I suspect you're fooked  Grin

Did you not consider a reraise on hand 2? Looks quite a pretty hand.

its amazing how many bad poker plays are deemed "misclicks"... you had a suited ace, the pot looked like it would be multiway and u wanted to see a flop.

hand 1, at these levels theres no point inflating pots before you hit because people will always be around to pay you off when you get there, so just check along on the flop, see what happens, and if it looks like it might be multiway, then you can get it in on the flop, or get it in on turns that dont pair the board.

hand 2 is an absolute disgrace but i think you already know that. You have a small stack at micro stakes, you wont ever make aces fold.. all in all its a mess.

lol Totalise, genuine misclick mate...I 'm not in the habit to play hands like this UTG.

hand 1,  I wanted him out...maybe the flat would have been better

Hand 2 like totalise said, is a mess the way I played it..would a push have been an OK play there or is it always a fold?

hand 2, just fold it on the flop or bingo it up and get it in preflop

hand 1, hes raised you on the flop, you say you "wanted him out"...........less then 5% of the players in the history of microstakes has raised this flop in order to fold, so remove that thinking from your arsenal. get money in on the flop for value, or dont get it in at all. When they raise, they are there until the river.
