I'll probably be shot for this, but I'm not keen on the re-raise pre to begin with.  I'm of the belief that people over-estimate AK pre.  Apart from that, nothing you could do with the flop and turn the way they are unless you have a really good read on the opponent and can put them on the set.

Standard raise on the turn from someone that hits trips on the flop, just annoying that you hit two pair here too.  I'm going busto here too for what it's worth.

Begining to doubt the point in reraising with AK myself preflop too.  Just seem to be leaking money most of the time by doing it as the original raiser rarely folds.   Perhaps I don't raise enough.

I think you played it fine.

I wouldve maybe made it around $2.75 pre flop with AK and i wouldve maybe made it maybe a little less on the turn.

End result would have been the same tho.

I agree with this, make your 3 bet a bit bigger for value and to cut the implied odds of your oppos post flop. Rest of the hand, standard.

agreed, always make your standard 3 bet 4 times the original raise, always.

Laxie, you should be 3 betting AK most of the time but smooth calling for a bit of deception is good and also makes your 3 bets look stronger later on if you get to show it down. Mix up your postflop between c-bets and checking to call/bet/raise the turn depending on board texture.

Thanks for the replies as always. Trying to learn to play this game properly is a lot hard than I first thought *lol*

I'll keep trying though

Only thing I would do differently is to check the turn hoping it made me look scared and give him a chance to represent the ace.

If he bets I laugh out loud raise him all in and praise myself for being brilliant.

Then I lose all my chips Grin
