common sense would dictate that post flop bets should be returned, the cards shuffled and the flop redealt, surely?  at the very least the flop bets should be returned and the flop correctly dealt with the 7 as the burn card.  In my humble and very unknowledgable opinion of course.

I read this as

'common sense would dictate that you do something that makes no sense'

I read this as

lol ok fair point, but common sense would at least dicate that the post flop bets should be returned IF a new flop is to be dealt, yes?

i would rule that as the flop has already caused action that the flop stands.

That (above) is the Grovesner rule. Once so much action has takne place the only option is for the flop to stand. I would be going mental if they made anyother ruling.

I think it's the fairest ruling you can give, once action has taken place. It stands.
