Ugh, tough spot

His play looks so much like Ace rag. Ace of spades with some kinda pair looks v.likely.

I'm inclined to call here and hope it isn't the A5.

pretty much agree with fido here, his play stinks of the bare ace so you've just got to get your chips in the middle, hope the kicker's not a 5 and fade the fd

I wouldn't say it stinks of it.

Silo...I'm not bet folding in this spot.

Once he's called the flop you need to be very cautious as he's obviously interested to invest another 750.

When that turn comes it completes everything that he may have been calling for.

He's given you the chance to keep the pot small so you should use your position advantage and take it imo.

It's not worth betting to protect your hand. You did that on the flop and he called. Your bet on the turn is a value bet that has gone horribly wrong when he shoves.

When the nasty turn card has come out you've got nothing to protect against. He's probably already hit what he was after and if not he was probably beating you with his hole cards anyway.

Check the turn and then check/fold the river imo.

If you call his shove the only hand you're likely to see and like is  with a Q or K along side. Even then you're not exactly a huge favourite.

I hadn't actually.   I didn't expect the jam but should have thought about it more before betting the turn.  Checking behind would have been better/

Has decided what to do before he has bet.

Flushy I know generally this should be the case but doesn't an opponent sometimes shove on you when you really don't expect it?

Example when you had KQ vs Robin Keston. Think you bet 8k and then he shoved you tank/called

If you had made your decision to call/fold before he shoved turn how come you tanked?

If i am betting 1200 into a 2200 pot vs an oppo who only has 4380 you better believe i am expecting a jam.

Obviously sometimes we just dont expect a jam like in checked down pots when we VB the end and they just overjam etc

Hand vs Keston i was trying to induce a raise thinking he had air when he jammed for 3x pot i had to re-think as i wasn't expecting a 3x pot jam it clearly means his hand has a lot of equity and mine didnt have much.

ppl on here are always looking for spots to pot control, usually when its unnecesary coz the other options are better. This is a 100% spot where we can check back at least some of the time, trading off some protection (against normally 30% equity shots) for dodging tough decisions.

FWIW i think bet calling is fine but prolly slightly worse option.

Im thinking next to no 5's in his range (55 woulda bet flop prolly, 56 same, 45 same), a tonne in yours and his line is soooo bluffy when he reps so narrow so strong. Can discount at least a proportion of made flushes that would normally have either led or cr'd the flop with, id assign his range as predominantly AsX. .
