He was also the second actor to portray James Bond, starring in a radio adaptation of Moonraker in 1956.

Sad news. When I first started working at the BBC (1996, Birmingham Pebble Mill Press Office) they had recently relaunched Call My Bluff, with Holness presenting and I used to do the PR for ths show, which involved setting up interviews for Bob with journalists, sending our preview tapes, etc. Can honestly say he was possibly the nicest person I have ever had the pleasure to work for.

Loved Blockbusters, applied to be on, never got there.

Towards the end, Bob really started to take the piss out of some of the more hopeless students, legend.

http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/politics/ed-miliband/8997795/Ed-Miliband-red-faced-after-Blackbuster-Twitter-gaffe.html

Tom Jamieson, a writer for satirical magazine Private Eye, chipped in with a reworking of Mr Holness' catch-phrase, writing: "Ed Miliband would like an O please, Bob."

How sad! He was always with us at tea time growing up, like losing your grandad. RIP Bob.

When I was 5 years old, my mother always told me that happiness was the key to life. When I went to school, they asked me what I wanted to be when I grew up. I wrote down 'happy'. They told me i didn't understand the assignment, and I told them they didn't understand life.
