around the 22nd mark we had a guess at. Bit unlucky with an AK which was outdrawn by a AJ.

But even so, he managed no rebuys or topups whatsoever in a 5 rebuy tourny. Tight bugger.

cracking venue isn't it.

I'm almost embarressed to admit that in a 5 rebuy with 500 starting points I didn't rebuy or top up. discusting I know. thing is I had some nice cards and the regulars who are no doubt used to weekly influxes of live newbies failed to spot a provincial casino player who could play a bit and accumulating chips early was quite easy. 500 => 5000 chips in the first hour. then in the freeze I had one of those total card dead mares, where I didn't even get any possitional moves off because evry moderate hand I'd likee to move on there'd been R and RR before me.

in the end, with 24 left and last hand before the 2nd break 3 hours in I found AK in mid position. UTG tilting player (just had AA cracked went all in for approx 2500. I called 2000 all-in. deep stack thought for a while before deciding he'd muck about with 10,9. UTG raiser showed AJ. flop J,Q,8. straight for deep stack is not good news for me. followed by turn A, leaving me a 3 outer for broadway straight. no 10, instead a J made UTG player runner runner full house. pah

still, gutshot was great. taking to Julian later on he hit the nail on the head; "It's the only way forward." Friendly atmosphere, great structure, regular breaks. the sooner the gaming board  gets it's arse into gear and realises no-one is being corrupted here the better. poker needs to be player in clean, safe, customer friendly enviroments like Gutshot. Eagerly await my next Gutshot trip.
