I love online but disconnects drive me insane.  It's so infuriating and difficult to pin down.  ISP, Card room, software, hardware?Huh?  Who knows?  Ahhhhgggg.

Spent all day once trying to sort a serious run of disconnects during MTT's.  ISP said no probs their end.  Will Hill were top notch.  Talked me through possible anti virus and firewall conflicts/checks etc.  After no joy suggested uninstall and reinstall their software.  Still no joy.  Checked and replaced modem/phone cables.  Scratched head.  Swore.  Got thrown off another MTT.  Swore some more.  20 mins later got connection and had lost half my stack in blinds.  Rebuilt stack.  Disconnected.  Ahhhhggggggg!

Gave up for day before I destroyed the computer.  Wife, who notice my slight annoyance,  phoned ISP next morning and c/s agent says  "Ahh, yes, we've been having server problems for a couple of days now."

So to the original, could'nt be bothered,  ISP c/s agent...I hope you play online poker and inherit the luck of the entire passenger list of the Titanic.

Can't think of the live equivalent.  Faulty fire alarm tripping mid tourney perhaps.  How often does that happen?

Wasnt there a power cut at a brighton tourney once and they ended up having to chop it something like 26 ways???

I guess that is about as close as it gets!

Happened to me once at the Gala, about 2.30 am so we down to 3 tables. Interesting watching the staff trying to convince the hardened gamblers to get the eff out of the place!

It's a different occasion to the one you mentioned above.

The whole casino, staff included, had to wait outside. I could sense some hardcore gamblers getting edgy. (proabaly considering going down the other gala rather than waiting  Tongue).

My table was at the end of a hand, so no trouble insued. However, I remember someone saying he had aces on another table as the alarm went off. I think it ended up as a misdeal. Now that is unlucky.

My heart kinda hopes someone signalled a mate to set it off in the middle of a losing showdown. Now there's an idea. I think the casino would cotton on after a while though.  Lips Sealed

I remember that. It was a good few years ago before they redesigned the casino.

200 or so people and casino staff thronging around on the pavement untill we got the all-clear to resume.

I was there on a friday once when it happened.
I had pocket 7's and the alarm went off just as the dealer flopped me middle set. - the card room boss shouted everyone out but i persuaded the dealer to deal the turn and river as it was the first hand and there was the usual multi- all in.  This quadrupled me up for the return about an hour later. - the funny thing is i had to rebuy 6 hands later!  Smiley
