I have managed to secure a one-to-one "in-depth" interview with Johnny Chan for 425 next week.

He's over here to promote a Tourney, of which you wll hear plenty in due course. In the way of these PR things, he agreed to give us an interview provided we (425) give his Tourney a bit of a plug. Like a Guest on Parky, they generally have an agenda.....That's OK, it's the way it works, & we are happy to do that deal, & will doubtless fashion an "opening" for him to tell us what he wants to about "his" (it bears his name) Tourney. More of which later.

But I have a problem, & need your help. I don't actually know a deal about Johnny. Most peeps that I interview I know, up to a point, & have some anecdotal knowledge of.

I can google & look at Databases as well as anyone, so I don't need to know what he's won, & where, that's in the domain.

But I do need some help on better questions, interesting Johnny Chan "legends", hands, factoids, etc.

Can anyone assist?

I am also "doing" Joe Beevers next week, this is a much easier one, but again, if you have any interesting questions you'd like me to ask him, please let me know.

Read some great stuff about his early 'losing' days in Vegas in Ron Rose's book.

I'll try and find it.

you cant go wrong if you ask him about his orange that he always has at the table, or ask him about Rounders

Throw in a few questions about Gus hansen going busto in the big game, whether he thinks omaha is his best game, and why he hasn't played Negreanu HU for $500k yet and the interview will prolly be over

If you really wanna get to the nitty gritty, you could ask him why he is so rude to dealers, and what his opinion on Stu Ungar really was... and maybe throw in a few leading questions on Doyles WPT bid and how much he has lost backing players in tournies over the years.. and make sure to throw in the token "HORSE" comment about how it will be great to see all the legends like him playing together.

Also you could offer to sponsor him through BlondePoker, get him to represent the site and you will back him in all the minor tournies in the UK, just for kicks... and make sure to ask him whether he would nail Famke in Rounders or whether he would turn her down like Matt Damon did.. and there it is.. the perfect interview!!

just say to him: "listen mate i heard that somewhere that you think your the bussiness!! well lets chuck £4 in the middle and play a little no limit holdem in front of the cameras.
If he dont answer just pull out a £5 note and say i'll chuck an extra nicker in now lets have it boss"!

he'll repect you for that and if he walks out that just means he's bottles gone and you turned him over, you'll be a legend(even more so) Cheesy

The question about Ungar might be good - he makes no bones about the fact that Amarillo Slim is useless (in his eyes).

i reckon you should ask him random questions -

like "Which Back to the Future movie did you enjoy the most?"

or "Which 2 movie actresses would you like to be stranded on a desert island with?"

or "24 or Lost?"

These things are crucial...we need to know them
