First time I've played this one, it has a pretty good structure. I wish they had played down to 10 last night though as I have to go back without necessarily being paid anything which would be a pain.

The very last hand of the night goes to Dewi James, who finds ACES and talks Raymond O’Mahoney into calling his all-in preflop bet of 15k.  “If I had AQ, I’d call!” says Dewi.  Raymond calls holding pocket 66’s.

I went out in 15th. I had 50k which was a little above average (Blinds 800/1600 when I found pocket 10s on the bb

Late position man makes it 5k, he has been quite busy so I rr to 20k, he moves in for 30k more.

I go in to the tank for a spell.  I put him on AK, I think he wants me to lay it down, or he wants to see all the cards if I call.

At this point there is 77,200 in the pot, and it will cost me my last 30k to call. The very top heavy prize structure means that almost all the money goes to the top 3 places (10k for first, 700 for 9th, 800 for 8th, 900 for 7th) so no point in playing for the minor places.

I call, he does indeed have AK, the K is the first card off, and although I'm up and down on the turn, the river is a blank I'm a gonner.

The £300 at Walsall is still my favourite regular comp (Although I wish they would flatten the prize structure a little)  I was on the same table for the whole of the first day and the banter was great, I enjoyed every minute of it. Roll on the next one!

Now, where's that kipper?
