SWP was only that price because Chelsea gazumpted Arse.
Gazumped by doubling the price ?
2 days interest on his (Abramovichs) money.
Got what he wanted though, look how weak Arse were this season.

What do all you Gooners think about Fenebache offering £7million for Big Lemon Sol?
Bite-hand-off comes to mind, but I don't think Sol will go to Turkey, because he will be too far away from his "Mummy".
As you know Nem., I feel that Sol's best days are behind him, and I feel it would be good business to sell for £7m.
We have Toure, Senderos and the very fine prospect IMO Djourou.
The kid from W.Brom looks good if we could get him into the pipeline.
I think we need a powerful central midfielder and fancy we may take a chance with Joey Barton,
he looks good to me when his mind's on the job, unless of course we decide to go for Diarra or Yaya.

Joey Barton Ralph? really? that surprises me. I hadn't heard that one.
I thought Nigel Reo Coker would be a great catch for a big club in that mould of player
Still Barton is a walking red card, will fit in well

Players like Barton and Reo-Coker shouldn't be mentioned in the same breath as clubs like Arse or even Spurs for that matter.
Now that Arse have moved into their lovely new stadium ,they should be competing with the biggest clubs on the planet for players. NOT, buying average players for £7million from broken German Clubs, like Rosicky!

If Barton has a decent temprement he'd be a fantastic prospect. I don't like saying that coz he's a moron but a very good prospect.

Not heard a thing but strikes me as one with potential if he is in control of his temperament.
And I believe we were top or very near it of the fair play league for the last couple of years.

There is no club that can compete with Chelsea financially in world football on financial terms.
The only way to compete is to be smarter and have better forsight in the transfer market.
And of course to get the great young players before them.
In other words to have better management.

That's not really Wenger's style or policy though.

Of course not.
