Epilogue to the WPT in Paris.
As was reported I was eliminated in the same hand as Carlos on the bubble. To set the record straight there was no deal. Carlos said to me, as we shook hands, if he won the hand he was through, if I won the hand I was through and if we both went out we would share the euros. The tournament director, Andre, confirmed this to me before I left the Club for some refreshment. This is the ruling in the Aviation Club. Upon returning later I was told that I had finished 19th as I had less chips, which was the case. These are the WPT rules. C'est la vie.
The next morning Carlos phoned me and asked me to meet him at the Place du Victoire. He explained how he was surprised to collect the 15k when he went to the cashier's counter and how he thought they were playing under French rules. He then handed me an envelope in which he said was half the prize money.
This was an absolutely amazing gesture on his part and I just wanted to make sure this was recognised on your forum.
Peter

This was his understanding under the Aviation Club rules.

Sometimes you have to suffer a little bit in your youth to motivate yourself to succeed in later life.
Do you think if Bill Gates got laid in high school, do you think there'd be a Microsoft?
Of course not.
