Basically any high pair is playable as long as your kicker is higher than what your opponent is representing.
Three flush with two cards over , three to a straight as long as not too many of your outs are already gone.

Stud Hi/Lo is what real men play Wink

That IMO is the most important piece of advice you can give for stud. There's a lot of info out there and you must remember it.

Other than that if you haven't hit at least 2 pair, trips or 4 to the flush/straight by 5th street then get the hell out of the hand
