Hi,
I've been playing alot of heads-up 1 on 1 games recently on pjokerstars and am finding them rather tasty - I haven't really played that much HU before and have no idea what to expect in terms of a decent win rate or ROI.

can anyone advise what figures a decent player can expect to hit please.?

many thanks.

There was a discussion a while back

The very last hand of the night goes to Dewi James, who finds ACES and talks Raymond O’Mahoney into calling his all-in preflop bet of 15k.  “If I had AQ, I’d call!” says Dewi.  Raymond calls holding pocket 66’s.

what team? - does kev have a team?

anyway, thanks Dewi but that thread although useful doesn't really state what a reasonable expected win rate would be - or ROI?

also, how do you calculate ROI?

calculate ur ROI.....

Take the total prizes won, divide buy total buyins. That then gives you your ROI.

As for the ROI in HU games....mine is 17%

thanks fishy.
I have some work to do then - this year at all levels, mine is just 15% :-(.  I have played at several levels though up to $200's, and they are harder the higher the buy-in.  I have settled on the Stars $50's and am currently running at an ROI of 21% with a win rate of 67% - (from 55 matches)

Baron - that thread was useful to the point where everyone started to attack Tikay's HU abilities!, i know he's a fish but got that man needs a break :-) - cheers.

Junior if you want to get your win ratio up try ladbrokes- the heads up games there are a lot easier (even at the 200/300 level) although you may have to wait a few minutes to get a game going. I play mostly heads up on there every day and it is a lot easier than grinding it out on the cash tables.

Going by Flushy's calculations, where ROI is total prizes/total buy-ins, and his claim that the figure gives him 17%. He has lost 83% of all monies staked.  Cheesy

That's quite some lose rate, he may be better off playing blackjack with his eyes shut.

Its at this point where the pedant within me just has to point out that...

 ROI% = (Profit/buy-ins) x 100

You can use.....

 ROI% = (prizes/buy-ins) x 100

.... but then you have to subtract 100 afterwards.
