Do you think if Bill Gates got laid in high school, do you think there'd be a Microsoft?
Of course not.

You have 3 possible outcomes and 8 teams.
Therefore 3^8 or 6561

1 match= 3 options W,L,D=3 to the power of 1
2 matches= 9 options WW,WD,WL,DW,DD,DL,LW,LD,LL=3 to the power of 2
and so on
x matches=3 to the power of x
so 8 matches = 3 to the power of 8 =6561
edit- obviously I meant H,A,D as my 3 options, not W,L,D

Thee asy way to do is a Calculator an you can have results per match so 3 x 3 x 3 x 3 x 3 x 3 x 3 x 3
