Strategy for Shootouts
«
on:
August 04, 2005, 07:30:17 PM »
Myself & 3 other Blondites will be playing in a Shootout event this Saturday.
Think its gonna be about 8 tables of 6 to 8 players, winners progress to final table, runners up to secondary table.
100 chips, blinds starting at 1/2, rising every 15 mins to 2/4,3/6,4/8,5/10,10/20 & 15/30.
My initial thoughts are to play same as 6 seater SnG tho tighter for 1st couple of rounds to suss out the standard
Any strategy tips would be appreciated.

If so, introduce yourselves to me. I'll be their wearing a shuffleupshirt (not sure which yet) and will be selling shirts as well as playing myself.

just read the rest of your post, no it's not the same tourney because the chips and blinds are all wrong. I'm playing mine quite aggressively I think because worst case scenario is I get knocked out and sell more shirts, best is 700. win win situation

Below are some points that I think you should bear in mind during a shootout
1 Try to take position behind the horse trough
2 keep your head below the level of the trough, especially whilst re loading
3 watch out for the man on top of the saloon with the rifle
4 only fire at people wearing black hats
5 when there is only one baddy left, stand up and walk towards him
6 Deliver a monologue on good v evil
7 Allow him to shoot you in the shoulder (gun hand if possible)
8 Finish him off with a single shot that flings him backwards through the saloon window
9 stagger into saloon to hear his last words
10 walk out of saloon to applause from grateful but cowardly townsfolk
11 Hug beautiful girl who has a crush on you, but dont kiss her
12 ride into sunset

Sometimes you have to suffer a little bit in your youth to motivate yourself to succeed in later life.
Do you think if Bill Gates got laid in high school, do you think there'd be a Microsoft?
Of course not.
