Egypt were the hosts in Africa. Maybe they played in the qualifying which only counted for them towards the WC.

Although then you have to wonder who'd they be trying to qualify against? Non-African countries??

The ANC has to be qualified for only 16 teams play in it.

There are about 30 countries that try each year.
