So, it's the amalgamation of the players from days 1a and 1b, filling up the hallway/cash game area of the ACF.  Snoopy has been unfortunately lost for the last half hour, but it looks like the streets of Paris have not defeated him entirely, and I'm sure you're all looking forward to his special brand of updating...

But first, thanks a bunch to Celebrity Updater tikay - it reminded me of how much fun it is to commentate sometimes, in a fun place like this.    to the Original Updater who started the trend...

Anyway, we're hoping for a reasonably timely start, as we watch Dave Colclough, Thewy, Matt, Chubbs and so many more vie to take the title back to the UK.  Again.

Jen and Snoopy when he gets there, how many runners today please?

The very last hand of the night goes to Dewi James, who finds ACES and talks Raymond O’Mahoney into calling his all-in preflop bet of 15k.  “If I had AQ, I’d call!” says Dewi.  Raymond calls holding pocket 66’s.

133 started today, and there have already been a handful of early exiters.  In general, the chips seem to be split with the majority of players hovering in the 20ks, while a couple are well above the field, and the small stacks are making a bid for glory...

Sorry for the delay - I have found the press bit even more crowded than yesterday, and am currently kneeling in a corner with my laptop on a coffee table.  And this space is actually a timeshare with a Danish guy.  Sweaty is not the word.

Hi folks

Incredibly, we've managed to stumble across the hotel after scouring the streets of gay Paris for an hour.

Seems there are two 177's on this road, and, not suprisingly, the naughty cab-driver took us to the wrong one. Bah, humbug!

Not a great day so far...

I'm wet, tired, hungry, and aching all over due to rain, lack of sleep, no food, and big heavy bags.

But, seeing as I'm an updating machine (cough), I'll be with you as soon as possible. Just to need to dry off and get a bit of tucker before I collapse.

See you in a jiffy.

Here's recently-out Thomas Middelthon, in a QQ vs KK decider.  He looks more cheery than one might expect...

The car park at Cardiff did.

Here's German George talking to Rolf - want to know what he's saying (I paraphrase):

"So I have , I raise to 1,800.  The guy on my left flat calls.  Flop:  Two Diamonds.  I check, he bets 2,500, I raise to 10k, planning to fold if he re-raises, as that says "set!"  So he re-raises all-in - the pot is huge, 50k, and instead of passing like I planned, I stared at him for a while, and bearing in mind that he likes to bluff a lot, and seemed to be shaking a bit, I called.  He had Two Clubs two hearts and I'm out."

He's being quite critical of himself at the moment, but I'm sure he'll hang around to watch his pal Jan Heitmann...

Oooh, bok alert - Julian has just this moment gone -

After valiantly battling the hours of bad cards with patience, Julian found himself in much the same situation today.  After he was pushed away with preflop re-raises a couple of times, he had 8,000 and decided to "stop the rot" by moving in on the button with when it folded to him.

Unfortunately one of the blinds called with his instead of letting him pick up the antes like he was hoping, and his run is over early this afternoon.  Slow couple of days for YoYo - but it happens sometimes.  At least it's glorious outside...
